I have seen this fantastic US M1 Abrams Tank in real life in Sweden, when the USA was here in Sweden on the joint exercise Aurora 17 together with the Swedish Defense Forces I met a lot of nice people from the US during that time. I hope to see you again soon, thanks from Sweden❤❤

I see very little life on an M1 Abrams Tank. But a lot of everything else. 🤔

Even though it is a special ammunition, the blue paint is a training bullet with the same trajectory characteristics as a live bullet, and does not contain an explosive charge. You can tell from the shape of the warhead that it is a HEAT training bullet. By the way, as you can see, except for the bottom of the case and the detonator, the main body of the case will burn. As for the 105mm tank shell, all the shells remain.

The reason there's no autoloader is a) it's one other thing that can break and b) it's handy to have another crew member from time to time

​@@DIRTYdeeds613A trained loader can load much faster than the autoloader. Besides that, in a „hot” situation the loader can rapidly switch the type of ammo needed. The only advantage of the autoloader is 1 less crew member.

Combined arms is really important. Without air dominance, Army has to proceed with these weapon platforms that are proven and lethal. New question is what will replace the Abrams? It’s another large capital expense not even discussed in public or Congress. There has to be a nex gen plan.

No bathroom, no air conditioning dedicated to the crew, and mres contain heater packs in each one.

I am retired Army and at all of my duty stations, during recovery…we would watch the poor ol’ CDAT’s recovering their tracked vehicles and thank the gods it wasn’t us. We could recover a platoons deuce and a half’s/5t, M1008’s or M1009’s and they would still be on the first vehicle. 🫡🤙🤘

I'm so glad the Abrams-X will have an autoloader. There's literally no reason to only have a manual loader now. This isn't 1945. Autoloaders are superior to manual loaders, as proven by the Type-10 and K2. About time we did away with an outdated position.

Not necessarily true. Autoloaders can get jammed. There's also less crew to do field repairs etc. I agree that autoloaders are superior but there are reasons why they aren't used by everyone
