A Day In FORT PAYNE, ALABAMA - Alabama’s Mountain Town

In This one I travel to Fort Payne, Alabama To spend some time in its charming downtown and show you around. I also visit some attractions and showcase the beauty of the town. Plus we stop by Mentone, Alabama and take a look at some ruins and some stunning mountaintop views just outside of Desoto falls state park. This is also my attempt at vlogging. Thanks for watching !
Fort Payne is in Dekalb County in the great state of Alabama. It is home to country super Group Alabama the band. It was once known as the “sock capital of the world”

Thanks for visiting brother ✌✌ born n raised n mentone. That was The White Elephant Hotel property for sale. It burnt...within 10 years ago I think. The neatest thing I've ever came across in this area, my cousin took me down in the basin of desoto falls around '05. He had been huntin' fer artifacts n showed me some "kept kinda local secret" honeycomb caves predating Native Americans..possibly Cro Magnon era. I went 2 years er so ago. You can see the opening, but that small earthquake we had a while back nearly dropped the whole ridge over it 😑😔. There's The Welsh Caves near there also.

Wow those caves sound so cool! I may have to do some research and check that out. And yes I looked up photos of the hotel after asking some locals what the ruins were of, I sure wish I could have seen it in its glory. I plan to revisit and make a video dedicated entirely to Mentone and all it has to offer. No idea when that will happen though. Other ideas for towns to visit and film are accepted as well. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it dearly :)

If you're standing on that brow in Mentone, you're looking off at the Tennessee river valley (in Alabama). There's a really cool drive through zoo down there. We have a nice dent in the door of car as a memory from that one.

I might have to look up that zoo, and yes later on I realized I was looking at Alabama due to the direction I was looking compared to where I came from. Very beautiful place, and those ruins were of the old hotel. Love that little town! Thanks for your comment :)

Bin Dotmire I learned of that fire about 10 minutes after filming it at some people at a little boutique and garden shop. It looked real beautiful from an old picture I seen. I plan on going back to Mentone sometime in the spring or so to dedicate a video to it solely. It’s such a beautiful area. Thanks so much for watching and I appreciate your comment :)

Cherokee lived in and around where fort Payne is. Most famous Alabama tribe other than that was most likely the Chickasaw that lived in the south and northwest
