If you see Brazilian schools, it's a little bit of everything, the difference is that here the people are all crazy, they've taken the TV from my living room, played games on it, etc. Brazilian schools are fire,You also can't forget about the wars between rooms too.

It’s so nice to see these kids enjoying their school life in Japan. Might as well cuz once they get spit out of the school system to be a Japanese adult, life in Japan is a meat grinder. I have been told so many times “i wish i could go back to my school days” by my friends in Osaka.

@@yhhhhujI'm someone who is also interested in foreign exchange. Just a fair warning, school in Japan (and other asian schools) is lots more stricter than it may seem. And sometimes there's a lot more work, failing one class can make you fail the whole grade depending on the school, bullying is violent and rough sometimes, etc. Now these are just the cons, there's more and it may vary depending on the school. Don't let this discourage you from foreign exchange if you really do end up doing it, it will probably do you good in life.

When I saw this video, it kind of reminded me how utterly boring and uneventful my high school life has been, pandemic struck and all of a sudden, I'm already a senior. This gives me a bittersweet feeling in the stomach due to how 80% of my high school life are literally spent on me behind this computer. I've always been jealous of my sister, who is currently experiencing a great high school life. For any of those who are in high school right now or will be in the next few/years, I just want to let you know that you should never waste it! High school is very fun! No matter how scary it sounds, from what I see according to other people, High school is the most exciting part of it all. A lot regretted wasting it and you should not too :3

Mine has been quite eventful. I was in America before the pandemic and was not a very good kid tbh, i got sent out of class quite a bit, got into fights etc etc. During 2020, moved to England and started English high school, no friends, no support, had to get used to wearing uniform, among other things i had to learn, basically by myself but i decided to be better because no-one knew me, and still don't really, i have friends but they don't know much other than i am american, marine corps brat (ooh-rah). Now I am nearing the end of english high school (equivalent of sophomore US) and am sad, because i never have had a 'normal' childhood, as all of my friends have known each other since they were born, literally and i don't.

I’m also a Japanese high schooler but I’m amazed at how different our high school lives are! First of all, I’m jealous of how cute your uniform is and how your guy friends are so cool lol. My school is in the middle of the city so we don’t have a school field, and not much greenery either:( Our school shop is also kinda boring-they only sell yokan, cheese sticks, pastries, bread, etc. Maybe it has to do with the fact that we change our homeroom classes every year, but my class isn’t very close-knit, and people tend to be with their own friend groups, so we don’t see snack parties held like that in the classroom.

But look I just don’t get why Japanese people are so happy even if, as East Asians, are constantly on the verge of kys and whatnot as I can say myself and for many high schoolers in China such as my cousins. I heard that suicidal rates are high in Japan too so I don’t understand why they can still be so happy and they are far more passionate in speaking than Chinese people. The difference is like Spain and Germany for Europeans.

Everyone here at these schools seem so respectful and fun. At my school there is constantly bullying. The people in my town are completely terrible. They call you names simply for eating something that they wouldn’t eat or for even walking anywhere. This isn’t just to random kids that they think are weird, I hear them calling their friends terrible things and treating them terribly. Everyone here just drags everyone else down. There are people in my school who have done things that those our age should not be doing and it’s very uncomfortable knowing that. Everyone dresses so lousy like they just rolled out of bed or something. Messy hair, pajama pants, sandals. I guess if you’re comfortable in those clothes and as long as it’s allowed then it isn’t a problem, but in my school if you don’t dress like that then you’re a “furry” or “gay” or “emo” or something, and when my friends and I put effort into our outfits to look nice we are made fun of. I really wish I could go to a school like this, I know there is bullying in every school and especially in Japan, but this seems so welcoming and comforting to me compared to the low class school I go to. Nobody here knows any manners meanwhile (if i’m correct) Japanese schools are more strict with good manners and teach them. Edit: For everyone saying “Japan has a terrible bullying problem” “Japan is not like this” I KNOW. I know that Japan has horrible issues with bullying, I know that this is just a cute little video but what I am saying is that the environment displayed in this video seems like a much more comforting place compared to the environment I been living in. I’m not trying to sound all “Japan is so cute! How beautiful!”, I am GENUINELY saying that this video shows a much better place and people compared to where I am. This comment is practically a vent, not some take on how “cute” japanese schools are. Please recognize that before replying with something senseless acting like I have no idea what I’m talking about.

Even still, I don’t often hear about bad things going on in them unlike most American high schools I’ve heard about (mine specifically, it’s a mess). For those who are curious; Classes in Turkey are generally fun. As in almost every country, it is divided into public and private schools. It is also divided into Science high school, Anatolian high school, Social sciences, Regular high school, Vocational high school, Health high school, Religious high school. In the last year of secondary school, we take an exam (you are very lucky not to take it, it is very difficult). Depending on your exam score, you will go to one of these high schools. Then we have the university exam. Big boss literally. Anyway, when it comes to uniforms, we don't wear uniforms properly. I mean, there were times when people were very careful about it in the schools I went to, but I don't wear it now. There are still schools that wear it. Standard high school courses last 9 lessons (too long if you feel like it is). Colleges focus on language learning. But of course it depends on the field you choose. I am a science student, but I study English 10 lessons a week. We also take 2 German lessons. And unlike Japan, cute clothes are a laughing stock in our country. Of course, it depends on the environment quality. Skipping school is a common thing. Of course, when there are so many lessons. In colleges, there is a half-day school on Saturday. Total torture 😂. I wrote it to help anyone who is curious. Thank you for reading.

As someone who actually experienced both Japanese and American schools(lived in america from 9 to 16, came back to Japan after), I can honestly say that the daily work load is alot more in American schools compared to Japan. Being held back a year for poor grades is unthinkable in Japanese schools whereas its possible even in elementary schools in America. The toughest part of Japanese high school is studying for the university entrance exams during high school, which not everyone does. The rate of Japanese high school graduates going to university is only about 40-50%, which isnt that different from the u.s. I feel like foreigners, especially westerners, exaggerate way too much about the strictness of schools in Japan. That was more of the case 30 or 40 years ago when we had 管理教育.

that is interesting to hear since i've heard the same thing about japanese school being more difficult before. and since i would struggle at times in american school, i wonder am i not as capable as japanese students? 😂

@@heyitzsamurai America gives their students too much work. Carry around 5 to 10 books that can be heavy. Even in Elementary School there can be too much. As I got older, we started adapting the no homework stuff where we rarely had homework because it just didn't help the students at all. Especially when it isn't easy to get in touch with a teacher and parents are usually too busy. Even now where I live, they went from requiring 21 credits to 28 credits to graduate in High School.

@@hinamatsuro1908 No its very clear you're absolutely right. Even this school im sure Hass all of the problems you've mentioned. I guess I mean this is the idealistic, stereotypical thought I've had of Japanese high school :) if anything, the video makes me feel better as my experience in my own school was far from this depiction, albeit unrealistic to the actuality of everyday here.
