You can stay at a very nice Bed and Breakfast in Beausoleil on the French side of the Monaco border for about U.S. $ 69.00 to $ 89.00 per night. On one end of Monaco, yet...technically "In France", you will be a two block walk to the Monaco train station. On the other end, you will walk across the street and be in Monaco.....and NOT pay $ 400.00 per night. :) Bus travel is one Euro with a transfer. Most restaurants are very inexpensive. Grubber's Burgers is no more expensive than Chili's in the U.S. Look up the restaurant and you will see their menu. Do not take "guided tours". You can walk from the Casino Square to the cemetery in half an hour. It is an industrial section of the Principality with residential areas. You can walk from that area to Fontevielle at the other end of Monaco in about 30 to 45 minutes. No matter where you go, which way you "turn left or right", you will not get lost and... it IS a delightful "educational experience", to say the least. There is ALWAYS some place to get a bottle of water, a soda pop, etc. Take your own "walking tour" and do NOT stay at any hotel in the Principality. Trust us, you do not want to spend $ 19.00 on a glass of beer or $ 48.00 for a bowl of soup. Be smart. :)
