You dismissed the Alvarez shown for $600, but did you see that it was a Yairi? For someone who I've noticed is into the Japanese guitars, I was surprised you didn't at least pick it up and inspect it. In case you didn't know, Yairi guitars are handmade and sold in the U.S. under the Alvarez name. They are NOT made BY Alvarez, they are made FOR Alvarez. If that guitar was in good shape, it was a great deal.

I thought it was cute. He obviously edited this video and chose to leave those clips in, so there must be a reason. I think for Brad it's like a home movie, where he can look back and remember a certain point in time. An outing with his daughter, maybe. It's nice. Didn't you hear her say, "this is your kind of place" when they were looking at the pickups (transducers)? . Nice video, Brad. Your family is beautiful.

I think the art piece at the end is interesting because it doesn't only apply to the stuff we throw away but to gearheads as well (to a certain extent). Having a couple of guitars for example can be really handy if you play different genres or need different sounds. Having 5 Les Pauls because you like the look is basically wasting wood for your own little consumerist collection drive.

Isn't that the truth! it's so hard to fight a stellar deal these days. But they can still be found. About 2 months ago, I bought a near mint condition 1965 L. Mozzani Classical Guitar, from facebook marketplace for $30. It was a an accidental find, I went to this guy in his early 80's house with my dad to help with a ladder that he was buying. The older gentleman and his wife were really nice and had a lot of nice things for sale in their garage, so I asked him if he had any musical instruments. After his wife reminded him that he had an old guitar, he went and found it. At first, I wasn't too impressed, it had old strings, was terribly out of tune, and needed adjustment along with being really dusty. I had no idea what it was, because I had never heard of Luigi Mozzani. However, it did sound nice, so I offered 30 and he thankfully accepted. I brought it home , cleaned it up, installed new strings and adjusted the action. Now it sounds and plays extremely well, plus it turns out that this guitar is fairly rare and worth at least $250, and I found one that sold for $700 on Italian Ebay. This was definitely a rare bargain find.

@@MarkSD Well actually I didn't. My Dad asked for me to help him pick up a ladder. He is the one who used the internet, I would never buy anything through Facebook Marketplace because it's mostly scams. However, the point of the original commenter wasn't about using the internet, it was about people having better knowledge of the absolute highest and lowest prices that the item is currently selling for. So it's harder to get a great underpriced deal.

I would have bought the loaded pickguard and parted it out to make a custom guitar. I do that.....but that Fender briefcase,though.... I would have snapped that up in one second. I've been looking for one.

Yeah Man I have to agree with you on recycling the electronic bits and pieces as even though something may have fried causing it to be trashed there are many good transistors, resistors, capacitors etc that are still good. Just an example: One of the trucks in our fleet a few yrs back had a fault in the instrument cluster. Had a bad transistor, which was discovered pretty easily visually. Long and short had a junk pcm and was able to pull a transistor from that to repair the cluster. Cool video btw, the dog was definitely trying for air. Time I see

4:00 Weird. I used those exact two 'lil instruments (Rhythmic 2 and Yamaha DD-9) to make some horrendous and hilarious gag songs on a Tascam 4-track. Never thought I'd see them coupled in the wild. Thanks lol

Outside of this being just a really cool video, taking a trip with the guitologist and seeing the local deals and instruments floating around etc., I thought it was especially great and really really cool that you shared that art segment with us. Especiy The piece that you did show because it's relevant to your channel, to us your viewers and the world around us. if you have ANY more information on the artist, exhibit, or gallery I would love to look further into it to support the artist.

NVM I called and they were so friendly I described it and she took my number and went downstairs to get the artist's name and and then call me back with it. How about that.

I think that Kay lap steel had an old P13 pick up in it. In LA they go for about what the guy was asking for the whole guitar. Every body wants a COODER caster out here. Those P13s are hard to find,

Killer Victrola! Check out Graham Alexander - he’s bought all of the RCA Victor IP and some go the Camden real estate. He’s also a musician how has played Paul Mc on Broadway and his dad plays bass in the Hooters. His song Biggest Fan is great! He’s maybe 30 but has a real reverence for the RCA history, being a Camden native

That Tele toward the beginning was a Fender Telecaster Plus en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fender_Telecaster_Plus. Though the neck may have been aftermarket replacement. American made guit with lace pups for 550 ... I would if I had money or circumstances.
