A Day at Slide Rock: EPIC Waterslides, Beautiful Scenery & More!
Slide Rock State Park is a 43-acre Arizona State Park located in Oak Creek Canyon, about 7 miles north of Sedona, Arizona. The park is named for its natural water slide, a popular swimming hole formed by the slippery bed of Oak Creek. The creek itself is a half-mile long and flows through the park, offering opportunities for swimming, wading, and fishing.
The park was originally the Pendley Homestead, established in 1907 by Frank L. Pendley. Pendley was a successful farmer who used innovative irrigation techniques to grow apples and other crops in the arid canyon environment. The park still uses Pendley's irrigation system today. In 1933, Pendley began catering to tourists by building rustic cabins on the property. Today, the park is a popular destination for visitors to Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon.
Here are some of the things to do at Slide Rock State Park:
*Take a ride down the natural water slide. The slide is 80 feet long and can be quite slippery, so be sure to wear water shoes.
*Go for a swim in the cool waters of Oak Creek. The creek is a great place to relax and beat the heat.
*Go fishing for rainbow trout or native brown trout in Oak Creek.
*Hike or bike along the trails in the park. There are several trails that offer stunning views of Oak Creek Canyon.
*Have a picnic in one of the park's many picnic areas.
*Visit the Slide Rock State Park gift shop.
If you're looking for a fun and refreshing way to spend a day in Sedona, Slide Rock State Park is a great option. Just be sure to arrive early, as the park does get crowded, especially during the summer months. Here are some tips for planning your visit to Slide Rock State Park:

It sure does get crowded, especially as the temperature increases! Thanks for watching!
Imagine this place 6000 years ago what would people be doing? Is it possible they would be acting just like this with or without the $20 fee it’s possible someone was charging you money to tell you where it was

Thanks for watching! I’m just glad we were able to get in the park. We tried unsuccessfully twice before due to the crowds.
Think you are supposed to slide and not walk🤪
