Hi Becky, I have a few things I to to try to calm the mind. One easy way is through meditative or purpousful breathing. I breath deep and hold my breath, let it out slowly and then pause on the exhale. I have to the think about it or even concentrate a bit by counting 1 to 6 on inhale, holding and so forth. And that is just a random number. But this is a basic form of meditation which for me, I do just to try to clear the racy, negative mind. Another thing I do is just getting up and moving. You know the negative mind spiral, that the pain will go on forever. Sometimes that takes hold of me and I begin to sink in my sofa or bed, and I feel like I'm frozen. But then I hear "Get up!" I do and most of the time it breaks the negative mind spiral and I can do something healthy for myself or my brain. If it doesent get better then I make an appointment with my therapist, like today! Thank you so much for sharing! You are awesome!!!

Thank you so much Carl. I am so glad you have found things that help you. I find getting up and moving about/ lots of walking outside really helpful too. Good for body & mind. I don’t personally tend to find breathing exvercises help me because they effect my hypersensitive intracranial pressure issues. So taking deep breaths and holding fills my head with pressure & makes me feel dizzy. But I do use a lot of Christian guided meditation & prayer apps which I find very calming and helpful to focus on something outside of my own jumbled thoughts. I pray you will continue to find the best ways forward for you! 😌
