A conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Radosław Sikorski
Minister Sikorski joins the Atlantic Council to discuss the new Polish government’s priorities and vision for Polish foreign policy and transatlantic relations.
In the two years since Russia’s brutal full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Poland and the United States have demonstrated steadfast support for Ukraine as it fights for its territorial integrity and sovereignty. Ensuring the defense of Ukraine and Europe’s eastern flank remain key priorities for the new government in Warsaw. Standing at the forefront of the transatlantic response to Russia’s illegitimate war of aggression, Poland’s leadership on foreign policy and security will prove even more consequential.
Against this backdrop, Minister Sikorski joins the Atlantic Council during his visit to the United States to share his perspective on these challenges and to discuss the new government’s priorities and vision for Polish foreign policy and transatlantic relations.

"We will eat grass rather than become a Russian colony again" - 100% agreed 🇵🇱
I'm very glad we have Poland as our neighbours. Greetings from Czech republic.
“We will eat grass before we become Russian colony again”
Thank you Mr. Sikorski from Estonia!
Can we please give this man some time in front of US congress? The nation needs to hear his arguments.
Thank you Mr. Sikorski from Lithuania.
Great speech. Thanks from Lithuania. And it is nice to see how many people in the comments are rational, and only few brainwashed by the axis of evil. Democracies have flaws, but it also have a capability to correct it self, we just need to unite faster and by uniting and defending ourselves we will bring those regimes to self-destruction.
Simply brilliant. This is clear sight and clear mind. Sikorski is top level. The West need more leaders of his caliber.
Listening to Sikorski I feel pride to be Polish citizen
Sikorski is the man, if every European nation had a foreign minister with such clear vision maybe we'd actually take Putin seriously.
As a Brit, thank you Radek Sikorski. This was the most eloquent and brutally logical and honest summary of where we are and where we must be going.
“We would rather eat grass than become a russian colony” I love it ❤
Great speech! Greetings to Poland and USA from Norway.
Poland's Foreign Minister Sikorski is a very right person to represent EU and NATO on international arenas. Very well spoken, excellent history knowledge, practical engagement in war in Afghanistan, and Ukraine developments elevate him to unique position to help to solve very complicated international situation. We need strong leadership in Europe, and around the world to save us.
Spectacular speech!!
I'm a Pole and a German. I live in Śląsk. "We will eat grass rather than go back to being a soviet colony" - 100000000000000% true! I, personally, even if I am a 100 years old, I will do everything for me and my family not to go back to 1970's and the rule of Moscow in Poland. Amen.
Mr.Sikorski is one of the great politician.
Thank You!!!
Well said by both sides, Poland will always stand on the side of truth and integrity 🇵🇱 🤝 🇺🇸
I have just listened to a Polish representative addressing the United Nations, debunking Russia's claims over why they wage war on Ukraine, one by one, absolutely brilliant. And looking forward to this too. Wonderful Poland. Jane Soole, Dorset, England (80 years)
