Issa's existence and success is just the greatest thing ever. Her journey his something every young adult should hear.

This was one of the best interviews I've seen with Issa. Khadi is next up in the comedy world and I think this interview really shows why they both are stars.

I love that she's transparent enough to let us know her failures and struggles. Especially with shonda-land's gig. Sometimes it's not the time even if the mission mirrors our beliefs.

The name “Awkward Black Girl” was marketable or it wouldn’t have been successful. 🙄 The gatekeepers in the media told her that name wouldn’t be “marketable” and they were wrong. The name just made them uncomfortable.

I hated that they changed the format of the show, but i LOVE Insecure. One thing i noticed about Insecure is its more of a drama-comedy series, verses straight comedy like ABG was. ABG Issa went through way less dramatic issues and emotional rifts compared to Insecure Issa. I use to be in tears from laughter while watching ABG, where im more in tears from relating to heart break like a drama series naturally plays out with Insecure.
