I've also remembered that the Digivice iC was not only in the anime, but in Digimon Next, and in various DS games. So my statement about only the VB lasting beyond the anime isn't strictly true.

Watching this as I smack my wrist up and down on my bed to get through Adventure mode on my vital hero because it's been raining all day lol

It is criminal how little digimon merch one can find in Japan. My wife and I did luck into finding Kari's Pink "D2" and a dark blue 'D2" in Kyoto, after spending 2 months looking around almost every Bookoff, Hardoff, etc. In Tokyo, Kyoto, the entire Lake Biwa area, Nara, Hiroshima...

Do you have any plans for a “collection tour” kinda video? You always get the coolest stuff!

Digivices are just such a cool concept. I wish they would keep making new iterations of digivices for the new shows and stuff instead of doing smartphones and watches

I mean, they did make the Digivice from the latest seasons - Adventure Colon and Ghost Game.

I did enjoy that in terms of design, the Japanese digivices were more anime accurate but the international releases were more feature complete. Made collecting fun.

I agree! Though I feel like the US D Power was fairly show accurate, but the SEA one definitely had more content on the toy rather than the US one which had the CD rom game.

I spot the Precious GEMS Leomon + Juri statue in the background and I'm jealous. Those things are going for like $500 now. Great video!

For the d-ark you can actually get all three of the initial partner digimon, the difference was in which digimon could have black evolutions and what digimon you could add to your team via the card swipe. I have the ver.1 blue and silver (ryo's digivice) though it oddly enough didn't have cyberdramon

It's odd that none of the original line had Cyberdramon Labramon, who as far as I remember only appeared in Battle of Adventurers, got prioritized over everyone except the main trio and Impmon lol

There's no such thing as a D2 - the 99 anime Digivice is just called the Digivice. I compiled a lot of the shells on the lost in translationmon website.

Really long intro, almost half of the video. You should have moved “misc digivices” segment to the end, IMO. I think the people clicking the video want to see the chronological timeline in a video form, and you are testing their patience limits with that intro. Anyway, nice work and video, as always. I appreciate your dedication.

I feel like when I add disclaimers like that to the end, people skip it and then ask the question in the comments a lot. So I always say things like that at the start so I don't have people saying "what about this!" When they haven't finished the video. Thanks anyway for the feedback.

If you want to do it this way maybe add a "skip to x:xx if you want to skip the intro!" when you strat the disclaimer part. I'd say it combines both of your ideas into one.

I didn't know the times in advance, unless you mean just written in text on the screen, but, that's why I include segments in the description so they come up as chapters. I'll make a little heading in the future.

My favorite digivice are the vpet variant that gives you a mon based on your care

@@LostinTranslationmon newest device I always carry is my digimonX red. I got a vital hero but I hardly use it. My introduction to digimon was the digimon vpet that came out after tomagachi became popular

Oh the DMX isn't a Digivice, those are just standard virtual pets. Typically Digivices are the ones that exist in the anime/manga/games as the Digivice.

I have another one that looks like a TV show digivice that you take care of the pet but I turned out to have a set evolution path. i forget what it's called but Before I modded it, it was blue. But you collect dna to change it's attributes and could collect chips that connect to the top

That's the Data Link, which is a Digivice but not a virtual pet. However, the Japanese release, the iC, is both a Digivice and a virtual pet.

Split versions? The Japanese thought Digimon would poop money they way Pokémon still does today.

Still blows my mind these folks tjat got onto the Pokemon trend, advertising all these things through a cartoon. They never advertized the actual product in most cases! Other then (Yogiho) never liked tjat one as a kind, but now I love it for ridiculous 4 kids censorship, and just some of the dumbest content. But yeah never realized these giys were realy trying to sell their Tomagachi. I did have one, secound gen model. The step counting angle was fun. That collectable card game was terrible, you think some one was ever fired over that decision?

You are incorrect about the DArc. The JP versions did have multiple partners you could unlock. The version one had the three partners from the anime. The version 2 swapped out Terriermon with some dog mon thing that evolved to Anubismon. I had/have the version 2

I think you misunderstood me, I was saying that you can only get one of the three main partners in each version. I know Labramon is on the version 2.

There was some differences in them, like you couldn't get the full line. The worst case of it is with the JPN D3 however.

@@LostinTranslationmon they had dark evolutions for the partners. Depending on things you would get stuck with the light or dark versions. But they were just inversions of pixels.
