Happy 50th anniversary to quite possibly the best Disneyland nighttime parade to ever exist. I have seen this parade so much throughout the years. Wow, how time flies for this parade. Love this parade and I will always will. So, happy 50th anniversary to The Main Street Electrical Parade!!!!

I've always loved this parade! I was upset to see it be removed in 1996 and happy to see it again in 2001 and again in both 2017 and 2019!

I’d love to see Disney’s Animal Kingdom to have a new nighttime parade that’s eco-friendly and utilizes fiber-optics and LED lights to save on electricity and help save the planet and also has both Daytime and Nighttime capabilities!

The only one of these I’ve seen in person is Paint the Night while it was in DCA (and I saw the Pixar Play Parade in Disneyland), and it really lives up to the hype it’s so good

In HK I didn't watch PTN, but watched the HKTB CNY night parades on TV, which HKDL provided one of the floats each year, sometimes themed on that year's Chinese Zodiac (e.g. 2010 (Tiger) and 2018 (Dog) had Tigger and Pluto as the main focus of the floats), or the theme of promotions in the park (like the 2016 Happily Ever After unit and the 2024 Momentous themed unit after the parade returned after a 5-year hiatus)

I just recently found this channel, but the second I saw the trailer/teaser for this video I was hyped. Thanks for the entertaining videos!

I want the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Paris Resorts to have new nighttime parades like a new SpectroMagic for either Disneyland Paris or Walt Disney World, new parades for all Disney Resorts with daytime and nighttime capabilities, new parades for Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, a new Electrical Parade with newer units themed to newer Disney movies like Frozen, etc.!

I had no clue the story about Hong Kong dumping the WDW floats into the sea was true, wow

No matter what the main street electrical parade will always be timeless. The best.. i dearly miss it... that parade more than anything made me live Disneyland

I've talked about this on Twitter before, so I may as well say it here. While I love MSEP, it's really starting to show its age, and I'm getting tired of Disney constantly advertising its return as a major event. The parade either needs to evolve or it needs to be retired permanently. It doesn't have to have the Tokyo Dreamlights treatment (because I know the hardcore fans/purists will have an aneurysm over it), and I don't think they'll want to do both MSEP at Disneyland and Paint the Night at DCA because it might seem redundant (and expensive in Chapek's eyes). So if I were in charge, first thing I'd do is stop doing the same "It's back!" marketing the've been doing since 2017 and just have it be a permanent thing they can do from Memorial Day to Labor Day and maybe also do a Christmas edition like what Tokyo does. And then maybe add newer floats every two years or so. It can either be based on an old property, a new one, or heck, let's finally get a Pixar themed float (the new Small World finale float that includes Merida and Miguel doesn't count IMO). I'd also have a new arrangement of the theme with samples from both the original and new soundtrack (and maybe for the Tinker Bell float, do a new MSEP style arrangement of Light Magic's theme). Other than that, this was a pretty amazing and well-detailed video, I have to say.

Don't you feel that Tokyo Disneyland is somehow different from Disneyland in other countries? Actually, it's a secret trick.

Also on January 2nd 1978 the parade was 11 minutes abridged at that year’s orange bowl

I hope PTN comes back to HK as well after Momentous debuted. We can have PTN at 7:30pm then Momentous closing the park at 8:30pm. For some weekends HKDL can be open until 10pm, with PTN at 7:00, Momentous at 8:30pm and finally PTN again closing the park at 10pm. Then we can have three parks with a representative night parade: DL: MSEP HKDL: PTN TDL: Dreamlights

The Main Street Electrical Parade should have these newer movies and IPs for certain units! - Frozen - Toy Story - Aladdin - Hercules - Beauty and the Beast - The Little Mermaid - The Lion King - The Jungle Book - other movies

This raise some questions in main street electrical part. With tokyo disneyland having the new advance techs, why can't california/Florida version couldn't get the same upgrades? It's starting to feel like they are stuck in the past. However. They did got new finale float, but doesn't look much advanced

@@rickymickey8517 We're talking about the same fanbase right??? You replace 2 bulbs on this thing with different colors or change 4 words in the opening announcements and everyone looses their minds. ANY change would have people outraged even if it was good.

I find it really hard to believe that Paint the Night is too big for Magic Kingdom, considering the way that parade units have to line up behind Main Street in Disneyland for second performances. Have you seen that tiny turn-around they have to go through? There's no way Paint the Night can make THAT turn, but not the Liberty Square one. There has to be another reason as to why they won't run it. Also, I find it odd that they feel the need to store Paint the Night in Florida, considering that usually, Disneyland parades that aren't in current use get stored in Glendale.

@@harwickbranch Well you've gotta remember, Magic Kingdom wasn't built with parades in mind. The first part constructed specifically designed to allow shows to run on a parade corridor was Tokyo in '83. Disneyland just got lucky when putting parades in in the 70s, but there are some really tight and undesirable areas of that route, and WDW got mostly lucky, they were certainly able to run shows on the backstage system they had built, but that turn was not ideal.

I'm sorry to say it but I have never hated a parade as much as I hate the Main Street Electrical Parade. Disneyland is not a museum and continuing to drag out this tired, cheap and boring nighttime parade just because of "nostalgia" is letting Disney, a mega conglomerate, get away with a lot. You can go to locals and see better nighttime entertainment!
