That freaking convention reminds me of when I was talking with someone about transhumanism and how its going to save humanity. Everyone will just be the Borg sustained with eternal life via nanobots. When I pointed out how inequality meant that the rich people get that future, and the bulk of humanity would just be left behind to die. He said that was ok because humanity would at least continue in a better form. They have literally created an ideology of people willing to jump into this fucking meat grinder of a system for the ruling class, as long as its the correct ruling class. And people call communism a terrible system.

That intro threw me for a loop. Here I was thinking that was winding up to be one of the most poignant and scathing mockeries of neo-liberalism.. I cannot believe how utterly unaware of the irony that company is! My head is reeling. I'm going to lie down, have a nightmare or two, then try to finish the rest of this tomorrow morning. .. It's just all too bleak to take in at once.
