    Love the new pour over method! Call me basic, but Starbucks and Peets make some of my favorite coffee beans that are high quality, easy to find, and reasonably priced. Coffee snobs have plenty to say about that, but I just enjoy a nice strong cup of coffee that will taste good and wake me up. I'm not drinking coffee for flavor notes or cool points! Please make a follow up video where you put it through the keurig!

    I just started working at Starbucks and a coworker ground 2 bags of the Sumatra blend on the wrong setting for a customer… needless to say my dark roast loving self wasn’t bout to let it go to waste! Got any tips for keeping the grinds fresh though? I know ya don’t generally want to grind it before you’re going to use it, but I’ve got 10lbs of preground stuff here 😅👀

    If I drink a coffee that is already ground, in my case I am drinking the already ground pike place, does whole bean taste significantly different that pre-ground?

  • @AtHomewithLucas

    @AtHomewithLucas

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes ground coffee will never taste as good as whole bean. So ground coffee is pre ground months before its put into the bag you buy at the store. Not to mention the beans use in the pre ground coffee are unknown to you. Whole bean coffee that you grind moments before brew will be the freshest ever. Not to mention the grind size will change the taste (stronger or weaker) and for different brewing methods. So yes whole bean is the best coffee to buy 👍😁

    love your videography for this coffee! This is by far my favorite dark roast coffee- it is SO strong with the earthy flavors (i call it like drinking dirt) and i absolutely LOVE it. This looks like it might be good for an espresso, might give it a try. I personally tried a few new brands lately (Groundworks, Stumptown, and Equator). The one that stood out was Equator (I got the "Equator Blend" in whole beans). One of the better coffees I've had in a while, to be honest. 2nd place might be "Bitches Brew" from Groundworks...Only cons to these is slightly more costly - $15 for a 12 ounce bag. Better to buy on Amazon if you have prime, for the free shipping.

These 3 are all from Sumatra but nobody called it kopi sumatra because each of them has unique taste. But I understand it must be hard to sell it like that outside Indonesia, who can pronounce mandailing? 🤣 Great video! Try kopi toraja (from sulawesi Island) next time!

Japanese are crazy about this particular coffee variety, so try to find supplier who also has services (or have specialty) in Japanese market.
