📖 GLOSSARY: 📖
► False Vocal Folds: False vocal folds, also called ventricular folds are a pair of thick folds of mucous membrane that are located above the larynx. They close when swallowing to protect the lungs.
► Thin Vocal Folds: When the folds thin out when you go higher in the range. Also known as head voice.
► Falsetto: When the vocal folds are stiff and let out air.
► Thick Vocal Folds = When you are in your chest register (so lower than an A above middle C ish) the true vocal folds are thick, and therefore we call this thick vocal folds.
► True Vocal folds = Vocal cords. They aren't cords at all but folds of tissue and ligament, so we stay clear of you thinking they are like two ropes in your larynx.
► Larynx: the place in the throat where the Vocal Folds / Vocal Cords live.

Tattoo is a very good song and I love that song!😍 but Unicorn is more fit for Eurovision and Noa also had more eye contact with the camera and more energy, her performance was also more fun to watch and more creative 😌 in just glad she got in 3rd place at least, with all her hard work, especially the dance break which took her 5 months or something to perfect

"Unicorn" has VERY meaningful lyrics! (This is my take as an Israeli, but as it is a work of art, it is open to different interpretations, so yours is valid as well! :)) Here are the main points to understand: The song is about the relations between Israel (The "I" in the song) and those who perceive her wrongfully as their enemy (The "You"). To all her neighboring countries, Israel stated time and time again "We are not your enemy!" (In the song "No, I'm not your enemy") Also, the fact that the Jewish ppl are originated from ancient Israel ("Do you want to check my DNA?"), and not a colonial foreign power, as falsely accused by its enemies. As you may know, There is a vicious cycle of violence going on in our region for more than a century that we must break and change ("History caught in a loop, Don't you wanna change it?"), cause Israel is attacked time and time again ("If you're gonna do it, don't do it", ) and is forced to respond. The music also contains elements of the Israeli national anthem - called "Hatikva" - The hope. One of the symbols of Unicorns is Hope and Success, and also strong healing powers. Notice also the colors in the Music Video, they are very meaningful as well! The ceiling is all-red, she wears all-black (Symbols of violence and grief) and switches to colorful outfits when she sings the Unicorn parts from black & white - Those parts represent the hopeful and successful future ("That I won't look back, I won't look down, I'm going up"). The fact that it's all upside-down! (Not a normal reality) They are all very symbolic! Hope all this helps to clarify the lyrics. 😊

If you go to her KZread channel, there’s a short clip of her covering “Hurt” by Christina Aguilera and the crazy thing is that Noa’s head voice seems even better (significantly) than her belts. I don’t think I’m exaggerating terribly when I say she’s not far off from Xtina.

Also I wrote this comment somewhere else explaining my view about the song (especially as an Israeli) and its meaning.. I’m just gonna paste it here😊 First- this IS Eurovision.. like second place was “cha cha cha”… Second- it’s a very simplistic way to talk about strength, uniqueness (yes, like a snow flake), feminine power (a girly thing like a unicorn is portrayed so fiercely); And with the other lyrics- it’s talking about being powerful enough to literally change the future (or the “loop” history is “caught” in) especially together It’s a mythical creature that can fly and in some cultures (not necessarily in Jewish and/or Israeli cultures) it can heal, make you immortal- it’s like saying history keeps repeating itself and it’s dumb so let’s change it, instead of trying to re-write it- we’ll write a new book together, create a new and better future. There are some parts that I interpreted them as being about Israel and how we as a country basically have to stand alone against ‘everyone’- ppl who don’t like the way we’re talking, the world hating on us calling us names (I literally see ppl comparing the JEWISH state to ww2 Germany… it’s comparable in many ways to calling native Americans “colonialists”) We have to be strong and believe in our journey bc being hated by most countries around the world while constantly being at war/tensions with EVERYONE around us (obviously it’s not simple nor does it have an easy solution if it’s been going on for roughly 100 years)- it’s not for the faint of heart.. the song also refers to the fact that “I am not your enemy”, meaning- we are not the enemy! We’re all in this shit storm together and have to figure it out TOGETHER in order for history to stop repeating itself. The music video is showing her on the literal ceiling, not giving a single F about ppl judging her, and very obviously NOT sharing the awkwardness her date appears to feel (I think it’s a first date but idk)- almost like she doesn’t care about how society expects her to react while on a date in a fancy restaurant, she will crawl and sing and vogue on the god damn ceiling if she feels like it. Yeah so that’s my take on it also I love her name it has such a nice ring to it 😂

I LOVED this performance but there needs to be a negative comments on a number of flat and a couple of sharp bits, over-singing, failure to adequately use volume to create artistic sophistication. Overall, great for a pop song with Brittney Spears in disguise, but there needs to be a higher standard. The overall performance was great, particularly when the excellent dancing is considered. Step back an remember Salvardor Sabol's performance in 2017. That is singing. As for my voting, I had Italy ahead of Israel, but remain stunned by the 16th place for France. Surely the vocal quality and creativity justified a top 10 finish (I had her 5th place). As for Loreen, her song is basically one, big copyright violation. I do not care if the performance was excellent. She rode on the backs of others.

Sounded a lot different live. kzread.info/dash/bejne/f6WVxLqbqNe6nrg.html What do you think? *live meaning in the arena. The over-singing was on a line that in the studio version she sang in two parts but changed to one breath for the live performance. I think possibly to add points for jury and I believe it paid off, even with the tv vocal sounding as it did at that part. If that makes sense. I was surprised about France too. Live France & Italy too.

Looking back on this, I’m still so proud to have been her fan so long. I remember being a kid, watching her act in her show, having a poster of her on my wall, absolutely losing my mind when I saw her live. She’s such an amazing woman and an inspiration while growing up.

It's quite a generic pop song, I find, and the lyrics are objectionably stupid - but I must say, I thought she had real star quality on stage. Such a talented singer, dancer and performer. Very impressive young lady. I'd love if she returned to the contest in a couple of years.

Funny, my mind went back to Noa's performance after watching Olly Alexander at this years ESC. Whilst they're obviously very different people, the two performances share a lot. Neither was the "biggest" voice in the competition, but both had an established reputation as performers, both had a very catchy, if slightly "nonsense" song, both had a lot of choreography & staging. But everything she did right, he did wrong. The singing, she had all the breath support & put her voice first & everything else second. The dancing, she sat her dance break at the end, so she wasn't left out of breath & her choreography was super tight & elegant. She approached it like the established act, lots of confidence. Olly allowed the staging & the choreography to swallow his performance. The choices made in some of the choreography were poor (cats coughing up hairballs anyone?) He sounded out of breath & pitchy. He had to hit the big notes at the end after all the dancing & where Noa looked confident, Olly looked really nervous.
