I earn this Bullet 500 trials and ride it now for 23 thousend kilometers. Up to Nordkapp and back over Finnland and i saw so many Adventure Bike riders with problems on the trip and my Bullet trials had no problems during the complete trip. Yes, its not the fastest bike, it have not much horse power, but the torque is very unique and you are not slower in the mountains as any other bike. It wokrs ! simply perfect.

That sounds like an awesome trip. Touring on this would be brilliant. So much better than riding an adventure bike like everyone else. Thanks for sharing. 😁

These do look amazing. Royal Enfield are the best at producing classics like this. Takes me back to being a kid seeing bikes like this on the road. Such a nice sight.

I own a 2020 red frame Trials exactly like it. It has almost 3000 miles on it now & I love it. I keep it to the back roads & lanes mostly.

@@GillyBikes Yes, this bike is great fun. It draws people to it everywhere I take it & just won a first place at a car & motorcycle show as well. Most everyone thinks it is straight out of the 1950's. In 3000 miles I have had very little issues. Two chain adjustments and a headlamp replacement. Also, the cats eye bulbs tend to go out and need replaced from time to time. I chalk this up to vibration which is not bad below 50 MPH. I live in Pennsylvania USA and don't take it out on freeways because I would be run over. The sweet spot for riding is around 40 - 45 MPH where vibrations are minimal. At 60 MPH the vibrations become quite high frequency and not very comfortable. The seat is good for about 50 miles and then you are ready to take a break or end your ride. Very good on fuel as well. No oil leaks and everything is high quality. Kind of like riding a tractor I reckon.

@@GillyBikes Yes, for sure. I have owned many bikes including old Harleys from the 1950's to 1970's as well as older BSA's & Triumphs. Same kind of feeling without all the problems.

Been looking forward to you getting hold of this, such a gorgeous machine. (I was one of the people who asked if you might be able to take it out.) I'm of a similar view to you, I can imagine myself in my retirement just bimbling around the country lanes on one of these (or a 500 classic), wild camping & not having a care in the world where I'm going & in no hurry to get there! Awesome... thanks. 👍🙏

And thanks for the recommendation. It was a brilliant bike for a relaxing ride. Definitely made me think about retirement. I’m a few years away from that but it was nice to dream for a bit.

I have a 2012 classic 500 , it's not perfect , rattles vibrates but it is comfortable and it's the only bike I've ever had that I look forward to riding and always puts a smile on my face, I don't want to change anything on and I will never sell it, thank you for the great videos you make keep them coming 👍

Proper classic and the older version is the original ride around the word machine, you should have a look at what they do on old Enfield's in India over the Himalayas, off road competition and everything, the original adventure bike, fix it with an adjustable and a hammer and carry on over the mountains, often thought about getting myself one

  • @GillyBikes

Yeah they do seem really basic and easy to fix on the move. I would love to do a crazy off road adventure on one. They seem very capable for it.

Great video. I too, amongst other bikes, have a Classic Trials. Been out on it today and as you say just wants to make you ride at moderate pace and enjoy it! I have other bikes if I want to ride fast. What it is not is a proper Trials bike, just looks like it should be. Probably the normal Classic 500 would be just as good on the bye-ways! Everything about it makes you smile. I have the Hitchcocks noisier pipe but you go through villages and no one bats an eyelid! As you say this is a keeper for me! 👍

Nice thumper , the sort of bike that’s ideal for barmy summers day B road bimbles , stopping now & then at county pub for the odd shandy . It’s defiantly worth putting in a cheeky 4 grand offer, for anyone who can offer it a good home . 👍

@@GillyBikes When ever I purchase a used bike from a dealer , I always tell the sales person to tell their gaffer ,that I am interested but not at the price ,they will be expecting . They usually come back with a reasonable quote , especially if the bike is taking up much needed space for new or more popular types of bike . God loves a trier, so do dealers when you have a fist full of ready’s & they have a shop full of bikes to punt out . 👍

Did you try standing up riding? .. I ask because I had a Classic 500 and found the footrests were too far forward to be able to stand comfortably (the tank was also low and wide which didn't help) being that it is called a "trials" model I hope it would lend itself to stand up riding.
