We Christians can be a weird bunch. We pray for revival but when God sends revival in a way we don't expect, we then say it's not of God. We pray for awakening to come to the world and for souls to come into His kingdom. Then when God answers our prayer by saving someone like Kanye West, we have all kinds of doubts. We: Wah God....Kanye West oso can get saved ah? God: ABUDEN??!!

GnaReffotsirk, I agree with you. I will pray for you to find a great church. None are perfect, mind you, for the devil works overtime to get us distracted with offences, gossip, etc. We must keep our eyes on Jesus, and as we stay in the Spirit, we won't be so easily offended. Pray to find a church in which the pastor knows how to and listens to, and is led by the Holy Spirit. Do not forsake the assembling, and even more so as you see the day approaching. Blessings and love in Jesus name.

There is a comment i relate so much before yours. It says "we Christians are a weird bunch". And it is true, one minute we preach about loving your neighbor and don't gossip the next we are gossiping about our church members. The church i am attending right now does the same thing. Their tagline or logline or whatever you want to call it is "Welcome Home" but tbh i dont feel "home" instead there, i feel judged because of my loud music taste etc. So when i start to feel the amount of bs stinking from them, i wonder is it me or is it them? But then again, i realised instead of piling hate on them, why not move on and ignore them. After all, you wake up at 5am to worship your Maker not your peers etc.

My kids were nominated for a Grammy in 2005 for an album of Hymns, so I saw Kanye oerform Gold digger with a full on marching band coming all through the arena. As great as that was, it is no comparison to this music imho, for this music is of a different realm. Look up Kanye West Sunday Service YT videos, and the one where he and his choir take over the airplane. I will search and post again. Even better than the album, which I bought and love, especially "God Is, "for the songs are longer and even more amazing. Oh, look up Praise Break Kanye West on YT where you can see the video of God Is, watch him at the end, and see if he doesn't remind you of King David leaping and praising God.

@Thomas Truther You'd be wise to remember who Jesus associated with before casting your stones. And that's not true. Kanye has denounced ALL his former music that made him millions. He doesn't curse anymore (or tries not to). He is concerned for how his children (daughters especially) will dress and what they will watch. Also, one of those Kardashians, his own wife, just helped free a woman from prison and is working to become a lawyer to help others. Kanye is also wanting to focus on prison reform and helping parolees get jobs when they get out. People can change and grow. Yeah he still has a big ego, but IMO he's very honest and self-aware. And I could not STAND him before. Ever. Also go look at older pics and videos of him. The man never smiled. Not even while making millions of dollars. Ever since he found Jesus, he can't STOP smiling and it is a smile that radiates his entire face. I'm telling you, his conversion is 100% real.

@Thomas Truther And the witchcraft thing is just ridiculous. There is not a single speck of a sign that they are actual witches and the allure that some of these KZread videos selling these conspiracies, SO powerful and people go SO deep down that rabbit hole and lose sight of common sense. They had a famous lawyer for a father. The mother then created a TV show. They got rich because of social media. End of story.

Thomas Truther you sound ridiculous I couldn’t help but cackle. Coming from a person who has been a Christian their whole life and seeing my dad going from doing a lot of drugs to dedicating his life to God and Jesus it’s possible for somome like Kanye to change the way they are to follow God and Jesus. His personality change should say it all. He’s trying to help others and hold his hand out to people so others can join his journey. He bought thousands of acres of land and he’s planing on building manufacturing buildings for yeezy so he can put people in jobs. He’s very family oriented and he’s been around Christianity his whole life.

EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO. I'm a Christian myself, and have been enjoying Kanye's music for awhile now. The details he put in his work is just, amazingly creative and inspiring. I appreciate how Kanye has always been genuine and bold in his relationship with God even though sometimes road was rocky for him. At times in his music, he voiced out his frustration, doubt, anger for God and honestly these feelings are all real. These are the challenges to overcome in pursuing God. It's just upsetting to see many Christians projecting negative judgments on Kanye as well as others before they try to understand what people have been through. Christians being judgemental is one of the reasons why people refuse to step into the church! As Christians, our first commandment is to love God, and the second is to love others as ourselves. Let's love more, judge less and hate non, it's cliché but true. Admittedly I was little skeptical when Jesus Is King was released, but after looking through the lyrics, damn like what you said... Kanye has definitely done his bible study man. So much emotions, so much to say, and Ming you've said what's been bottling in me!! The balls it takes for someone to declare God's word in front of millions.. Imagine the weight of the cross. Kanye was ready to do what God called him to do. I truly respect him for it. Ultralight Beam was my favourite from Kanye but now we have this album, I can't decide anymore lah.

I think there is such pleasant surprise at the depth of Kanye's feeling and the degree of Bible knowledge he has put into the record that the Christian response is unlikely to be anything other than pleasant surprise. It's also kind of funny that Kanye fans miss most of the Christian references than Christians recognize right off the bat. The most criticism comes from people in the rap/hip-hop recording industry who think the production is weak, with a few hints that maybe this whole Christian thing is a marketing gimmick. Your reaction is well-stated, and I agree with you. He's a brother we should support and pray for.

As a spiritual person with my Catholic background, I just really appreciate how someone could change for the better and even give huge acknowledgment for the reason of his change and his struggles along the way in accepting help and needing help; and a hip-hop fan here is already loving the bits of the soundtrack you've played here! Personally haven't heard of the full album yet, but I'm excited to hear what he has to say about his journey in his spiritual life. Totally agree with your stance as well! Cheers.

It's funny how everyone says track one is exactly like going to Church. I grew up Catholic my whole life, went to church every Sunday with my family and the choirs never sounded like this. I like it though, it's quite powerful. Fast forward today and I don't attend church anymore, nor would I consider myself Catholic but I do consider myself a Christian and I personally really like this album. I wish him the best of luck with his walk and whether he's being genuine or not, he is at the very least, making people talk about Jesus and looking up Bible verses, so I would consider that a good thing.

A very insightful and loving reaction, as a Christian most of the stumbling blocks are sadly thrown in the Church......Satan doesn't bother the people following world, they are already doing his bidding.........he attacks the the Believers in Christ......he hates us only because God The Father and His Son Jesus Christ loves us.....it's satans only desire to see us fall. I don't know about anyone else out there..but unless you hung on a cross and died for the Worlds sins You have no right to judge. We are to search the scriptures to prove what we hear preached is True..period! and pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ...and no matter who is speaking Gods Word does not return void....It is Truth..and the Truth will set WHO SO EVER FREE

Totally agree with you. I think that many of us Christians grew up among other Christians in church and it somehow shaped our minds to have high expectations of other Christians to be more Christ-like because we all know God personally. However, we unconsciously bring this mindset out when we are outside of church too. Thus, setting godly standards on non-Christians, causing us to judge non-Christians very harshly. Man, even Christians can't hold up to God's standard, what more non-Christians that don't even know Him personally? Let us all learn to love God and love people. :)

The Lord spoke and said Kanye Had a Heart Like David to a very well-known pastor that the Lord speaks to , I also have heard his testimony and he has truly been born again Praise the Lord, we should never put God in a box Hes Limitless He died for the sins of the whole world not just a few selected Saints, we should never limit God ,,so praise God for Kanye we need to as the body of Christ pray for him because the enemy ain't too happy about it we should know this,, and we need to keep him in prayer. Praise Jesus a year ago I wouldn't have said. This but God has done something,, yes Kanye recently said the Lord said are you ready now son, and yes the Lord is able to do a great Revival, through Kanye or anyone whom the the chooses!God bless❤

ye ye I appreciate your response to the album. I had a couple of thoughts about some your takes on the songs: 1) Closed on Sunday - although I think that you're right about the positive encouragements in the song being aimed at Christians (and pre-Christians, too), I think that the lyrics that are more of a challenge or warning are actually written not to the Church, but to the demonic and possibly those who practice witchcraft, too. The line "Jezebel don't even stand a chance" is a big clue to this. Kanye is talking on levels that a lot of Christians don't even have a grid for, and I think that is at least in part because of the deliverance that he personally went through. 2) Everything We Need - I think that his line about Eve, apple juice, and putting it back on the tree is actually saying the opposite of what you think it's saying. You got a "we all make mistakes" vibe from it, but I hear the line as "let's not make the same mistake Adam did, because [with Jesus] we actually have everything we need." On a broader level, I think he's taking a swing at the materialism that many people get caught up in (in the hip-hop world, as well as many other places). I think he's trying to turn that value system on its head and show people that they can actually be content with what they have. My $0.02. Thanks for taking the time to read it!

I'm so happy for Kayne. I LOVE this album. I honestly feel like he is being genuine and being a light where it is needed. He was going down a very very very prideful path. GOD Grabbed a hold of him and showed him the truth of Jesus Christ. I honestly also feel like... his song " Jesus Walks." was the first finger print we had of Kayne gift to speak of Jesus.

Its not just an album he's held "Sunday Services" where he played the album inter spliced with full gospel and an actual service half way through for very low prices and even went to the lengths of banning alcohol sales in the venue. He also recently made an opera after the story of Nebuchadnezzar that has nothing to do with his own music. I attended both and I don't even consider myself a Christian but as someone with a strong Roman Catholic background I have nothing but respect for his resolve with this. True goat this man.
