There is so many great humanity in these words and this entire clip. Most of all I love the fact that we see humans with all their flaws, emotions and overcoming and channeling both to do and become better. So many people try to sell a perfect picture of who or what they are because somewhere down the line being a human wasn't good enough anymore... And then you see this... tears, admitted mistakes and reflecting on hard times... and none of this felt weak or like it should better have been hidden. I will watch this clip many more times.

This statement is exactly how I've been feeling these days too. Ever since I allowed myself to let go of the notion that being a left-wing, liberal feminist was the only morally acceptable world-view for a modern woman, it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I don't agree with every last thing that Jordan Peterson says, but I'm shocked by how much value I have found in his lectures...value which I would have never discovered as long as I clung to my identity as a hard-left liberal. The greatest gift and irony, since I learned to let go and become curious again? I've fallen in love...with a man who endorses Men's Rights, Red(ish) Pill social theories, and traditional family values. Someone who I would probably have hated on principle five years ago...is now someone whom I want to raise a family and grow old with. Life is such a strange and wonderful journey.

Preconception is a powerful tool and it's fairly heavily used to create propaganda and division between people who would otherwise get along completely fine with one another. And I have friends from all walks of life I do not discriminate I sit down and I have heated debates and arguments on philosophy and religion and politics with some of my friends and is heated the arguments and debates may be we never turn on each other at the end of it we end up having a drink together and we still love each other as friends it changes very little when you actually listen and attempts to understand the other person you will see more about them and more about yourself at the same time

When he started crying I felt really bad for him. We all see Jordan as this amazing person and pillar of salt for Earth. But we forget that he's only human at the end of the day and he himself has shown a couple times that all the hate he receives does effect him and does get to him. But he keeps on fighting for the betterment of us. People like you and me. I can't imagine how many times this man has completely broken down or cried while being held in his wife's arms because he's been so harassed and criminalized by so many people and then a few hours or days later goes up on stage and delivers as if he's unshakeable. This man is an absolute hero.

I thought two things. 1. I fucking love this guy, I haven’t seen someone care that much about helping another human being in actual YEARS. Maybe my life. That said, that thought actually made me rather sad. 2. It’s one thing to listen to his lectures, but seeing his vulnerable side really put things in a whole new light; seeing as though he can also be so strong. It made me feel as though I have even less of an excuse to be irresponsible in a weird way, because everyone suffers- even Mr. Peterson (if that makes sense). In that sense, only my father has had a similar effect on me when I young.

Nothing on a social media level. They say you are judged based on your enemy. It's hard not to feel deep emotions whenever a glimmer of truth affects another life for the betterment of humanity. Jordan is not a perfect man, neither am I, nor you. However, Jordan is trying to make the world a better place. And for that, I love him.

It has changed my life significantly, and I have lost s lot of motivation and drive throughout this semester. Hang in there, and I hope things start looking up for you. Chronic pain is a beast to deal with daily, but can be managed appropriately- I have changed my diet, incorporated meditation and stress reduction techniques. Easier said than done but stress increases inflammatory responses in the body which significantly exacerbated pain, especially endometriosis with it being an inflammatory condition. Sending you positive vibes ❤

I just watched his discussion on a Bill Maher panel from four years ago and was struck to near tears at Peterson’s humanity. He was asking the panel what, if after they were successful in ousting Trump, did they plan to do for the people who followed him…what plans were there for reaching out and making them feel that they were part of the fold of American citizens. They were, of course, preoccupied with their own agendas, but it’s the first time I’d seen someone think of unpopular conservatives in a generous light. I have to thank Olivia Wilde and her crass comments. I’d actually never heard of Peterson before she attacked him but took her condemnation as a ringing endorsement to see him in action. So glad I did and have just placed an order for his 12 Steps book.

In essence, everyone is biased. I see a lot of bias in Leo as well and question the accuracy of his insight, including on topics like JP or conspiracy theories and such. Yet he (Leo) is being of tremendous service to the collective and many of his sharings are profoundly valuable, advanced and on point. The same could be said of JP, although JP imo isn't as aware of deeper dynamics of consciousness in an experiential and intuitive sense as can be seen in many people who have had awakening experiences and are advanced meditators or perhaps made use of psychedelics to enable a lot of such insights like Leo seems to have done. JP is poking the collectives ego and delusions from a certain angle that is still relatable enough (for many) to understand and to contest with/process, for the point that the collective is currently at in its level of consciousness.

@@edledoux2788 As an older person from a Christian-heritage country, I can tell you it used to be a lot more common. It is called meekness, which has been misinterpreted for decades. It doesn't mean "weakness". It means surrendering your strengths (eg intellectual strengths or position etc) for the sake of others, for the benefit of others, out of LOVE (desiring their good) for others. It's a trait of Jesus (as anyone who has read the Gospels knows) and also those who are born of the Spirit and have Him - by the Holy Spirit - indwelling (John 14:16-17, Romans 8:9, 2 Corinthians 13:5 etc). It is so powerful and its effect so influential on society that even its seeds down the ages were/are seen in societies. I call it "the touch of His robe" or the "light of His countenance". In other words, even those NOT born of the Spirit and who wouldn't even have called themselves "Christian" were positively affected by this influence and imitated it, in the same way that we are influenced by the sun even when it's sooo far away. Christian influence is still there in the world even when true regenerate believers (the only kind: John 1:12-13) are fewer i.e "far away". Jordan Peterson would likely agree as he is being more and more influenced by Christ. Suffering is the only thing that humbles us and when we are made "less" by suffering (even temporarily), when we cry out to Him, He lifts us up. More Christ in people always makes them better. We were created by God but we're spiritual orphans tainted by the corrupt world and "the prince of this world" i.e Satan...until we are re-united/reconciled to God the Father through His Son (Romans 5:1). Just found this man a week ago. I was always just taking the position of “whatever makes people happy, go with the flow, mind my own business.” But this man has really made me rethink my values, my stance in life. You are making so much sense, even just for a single mom with no high education, you have opened my eyes about the things that the media are portraying on matters such as the gender pay gap, marriage, men etc. Thank you, for enabling me to broaden my way of thinking, and therefor setting new lifegoals and standards for not just me but also my son later in life. Since I found this man, i kept asking myself how fantastic someone has to be in order to become such an important part of your life. Mr. Peterson, you've been a Dad, a Mentor, a teacher, the reason why I could go on when crushed by utterly hopelessness and despair and frustration. But more than anything you've shown me how to bring myself together, how to find my way from the utter chaos that has been my life for the past 30 years . I evolved so much during these past five years. I now walk the earth with purpose and dignity, having systematically cleaned and put together every aspect of my life. I am almost the man i wanted to be, almost there. Thank you .

Angry that every pastor I had spoken would dodge my questions and make me fell as though I was trying to prove religion wrong. I stumbled upon is 12 part biblical series where he spoke about several biblical stories from a phycological perspective. It was then that things just started to make sense and I felt the burden of guilt or conviction start to lift from my shoulders. I appreciate this man because he speaks his mind and what a complex mind it is. At times I his talks would seem scatter brained but it was more his constant array of thoughts or so I think which I can completely resonate with. Thank You Jordan

imo one of the biggest problems with the Marvel incident is that i know not everyone is going to handle it as well as Jordan Peterson will. he's got a background that keeps him from falling into the self-fulfilling prophesy that could potentially come from being categorized under the red skull "archetype." the same can't necessarily be said for the sizeable group of young, white, conservative men who only have a cursory understanding of his work and know that they agree. if ta nahesi coates were trying to create an actual violent fascist movement in the west, this is how he'd effectively go about doing it. if they don't stop painting people the way they do, they risk having the prevailing thought on the young right become "well, maybe I am red skull - and that's OK"

Additionally, what Jordan's message is has nothing to do with genocide itself.

When someone wants to destroy you, you'll know it and it won't simply be a "feeling" because they will actively be attempting to do so. You're more likely to be victimized by someone you know than a random stranger, so while being paranoid about those you don't know, you're allowing yourself to be open to destruction from those you think you know. Which is weird because there's a lot of self-sabotage people of all walks engage in. People think they can't improve their circumstance because everything is against them, which isn't necessarily wrong, but they hear the same thing being told to them by people they know and love and trust, and in listening to that message they allow those people to whittle away at what could be a foundation until they are destroyed by the collapsing weight of what they believe to be a ceiling or cage that keeps them down. A cage and ceiling reinforced by people telling them the world is out to get them. A cage and ceiling reinforced by people telling them that every time something bad happens to them, it's because of something they can't control, and so they're helpless to stop. The few times he misses the mark are many times more overshadowed by the general emphasis of delving deeper and finding meaning where very few have trod. His search is good for him and good for all who partake in the fruit of his search for the meaning embedded in scripture. This search raises all boats.

I've honestly never really thought about how our bias towards our "own group" and "not liking outsiders" comes into play in THE BIG PICTURE of things. I recognize it easy in tinier things, like where I'm going to an event with friends only and suddenly someone says they're bringing a person I don't know and there's this immediate "ugh whyyy" going in my brain, regardless of the person who I know nothing about. Then, if you think about it, "our own groups" are on all levels of life. Family -> Friends -> People from the same city -> People who support the same sports team -> People from the "south/north" -> people from our country -> people with our religion/belief -> people with our gender -> people with our race -> people with our opinions -> people with our tastes in entertainment -> people who like the same genres of music.... each and every one of those comes with a bias towards the "own group". How many times do we label that kind of inherent(?) predisposition as "racism" or some other ism or phobia? Also, Africa's "read this book" thing made me think: how often are we against opening ourselves to something that is being "pushed" in from the outside, because it feels like it's being thrown on us without us making the choice? I remember a very specific moment where I thought about this, when I had kept on recommending a band and really hyping it up to my friend and they were like "I'll give it a listen when I have time". Some 6 months later or so, he recommends me a band. IT'S THAT SAME BAND. He had "found it" himself and then thought it was great and recommended it to me. At first it kinda offended me or at least annoyed me, that he had ignored something because it was me recommending it and I took it personally, kinda. But then I started to really look at my own behavior and how often I admittedly opened some hyped up link by a friend somewhat reluctantly, just out of respect for not wanting to be rude. Sure, sometimes the song was great but there was AGAIN that "ugh why" first reaction for some reason. I see quite a lot of the agendas currently being actively PUSHED being rejected strongly.. maybe the push, the feeling of being forced into look into it is a source of "ugh no". But when Africa took the time to look into things herself... she came around. No doubt those friends of hers who still hate JP are likely stubbornly not taking her word for it. Now, if I extend this investigation of myself (and others to the extent I can)... I kinda notice that I have lower threshold to adopting something NEGATIVE from my friends. If they hate a person or entertainment I haven't yet formed any idea about, I can keep it in my mind about something not worth attention. Similar to how Africa had heard bad things, had a bias while watching and seeked for that confirmation bias... and we often find what we actively look out for.

Seeing Jordan emotionally moved by her words is so incredibly heartwarming. A lot of the time, people are looking to consume content that reaffirms their pre-existing beliefs rather than content that could potentially teach them something, but if you walk in with an open mind and no preconceived expectations, it vastly widens the landscape of information that you could potentially garner. And the other thing is people's reluctance to admit being wrong. These types of people would rather protect their ego than experience intellectual growth.

Dear Jordan, Watching you cry on this video made me tear up as well, not just as a mirror neurons phenomenon, but because you embody the hero's myth that you so frequently talk about. Stand up in the face of malevolence and never straying from the path of service to others. My tears were followed by a very warm feeling in my chest, just cause I'm glad I live in an era where I could listen to you speak. You have, more than you could fathom, helped me find meaning in my life. I had strayed far enough from my path in life during my early 20s, and might just have ended up cursing myself and the world if your work hadn't presented itself to me, almost like a message from god to get my act together. You helped me rearrange the chaotic mess of information in my head, and to finally use that and channel it towards a purpose. You are a godsend to a confused generation my dear sir, and i beseech you to continue inspiring us to be the very best version of ourselves. Thank you Jordan... Just, thank you

Jordan Peterson is a light in the darkness. He is a gift to the world at this critical time of division and cultural change. He is brave, courageous, a man who is humble, approachable, learned, not afraid to talk about his frailty as a human, and more importantly absolutely tenacious in the face of what could be overwhelming resistance to his messages. Dear Kara, I don't know you but when i read you had cancer my heart cried for you. Out of love for you and for everyone else who deals with pain in her or his life. I wanted to give you hope in times of darkness. Jesus said in Matthew 11 28-30 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Also in John 11 23-27 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” 24 Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” 27 She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” John 4 9-14 The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” 11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?” 13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” Jesus was showing the women if she start believing and have faith in Him she not only find but will have eternal life. That is why Jesus said in John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. So from all these verse we see that Jesus Christ (Yeshua meaning salvation) is the one we should believe in and have faith in. Jesus is the one that gives people Eternal life even if life seems hopeless because off all the troubles in this fallen world. In Him (Jesus) we find hope, true love and rest for our souls and eternal life by faith.

Africa is so well spoken. And the fact that she allowed herself to be open minded, especially during those years of peak hatred and tribalism exacerbated by politicians and their media wings, speaks to a strength we should all have. Regardless of political stance. You don’t need to always agree, but just hearing people out is the key to toning down the hatred. And that’s what we need to keep this country from imploding.
