Beautiful! Gardening in central/south Texas is extremely challenging, which makes your results all the more impressive! You have found the right plants for the right spots. You've also done a great job making things look tidy and cohesive, not chaotic.

Yes! The right plants (Texas Natives) do very well here! Thanks for your sweet comments about my tidy and cohesive garden.
Thanks so much for a wonderful garden tour today. Some great information and sharing what you’re doing in central Texas. You may garden tour was just beautiful. I love how all your plants look you take such good care of them and they all look so beautiful and healthy. I also am trying to get a cottage garden going in my own garden and trying to have a lot of different kinds of plants growing. Thanks so much for sharing my dear friend.

You're so welcome! I'm so glad you like my garden.
Greetings from Ireland, Great video and your garden is the bees knees, We had the wettest March on record and April was fairly wet as well. My biggest problem at the moment is slugs and snails I have never seen so many. We have sixteen slug traps with homemade bait in them placed around the flower beds. We also lift up the pots where they hide during the day and relocate them to a new home usually they go flying over the fence into the neighbours back garden.

Hi From Texas!!! So thrilled to think that someone from Ireland is watching my videos!! Yes, those pesky snail and slugs are the worst!! I should try the natural method to get rid of them. 😃
I love your garden content. The cherry laurels are beautiful. My neighbors planted a privacy row and it is amazing how fast they grow. I'm thinking of adding a few to add some privacy to another portion of my back fence. I've even thought about taking a clipping and seeing if it'll root by just putting the cut end directly into the ground where I want it. I've tried it with a few of my other evergreens this spring. Hoping they take root. I grew cone flower plants from seed and they will give me blooms for the first time this year.

Thank you! Cherry Laurels are wonderful and fast growing! They love our soil and climate.
I planted star jasmine this year and a little john bottlebrush here in Lago Vista. Also added sweet potato vine, creeping jenny and petunias to my window planters. I'm hoping they will do ok in the summer.

How do you keep the flower beds from weeds?

I hand pull them when the ground is moist. I pull a few weeds every day. Sometimes I sit in the middle of a very weedy area and pull weeds for an hour or more. 😆
