I owned a giant Vietnamese centipede one time. Till this day I still don't know why I bought it because it scared the hell out of me. One day it escaped its enclosure while I was sleeping (I kept it in my bedroom...). The only thing that saved me was it fell into my plastic trash can that I kept beside its cage. It was unable to crawl up the side of the smooth plastic... I felt like I won the lottery the next morning when I found it.

i was bitten by a big centipede and oh boy it hurts like hell. it felt like someone stab you with a hot needle. I hand to my elbow was swelling hard. took like a week until the swelling is gone. i didnt take any medication.

That centipede is a monster! I watched one attack a mouse, it completely wrapped around the mouse and kept biting until it couldn't really do anything about it and it chewed through the mouses stomach and ate everything inside the mouse, it was disturbing to say the least!

I live in El Paso Texas and have recently become addicted to your KZread channel. Reason im writing in is because i find so many centipedes in my house!!! We get the house sprayed often but i wouldnt want one to bite me nor my son. so yes im curious to see this bite episode. I once accidentally ate it. I had jelly worms and one fell on the ground and by mistake i took giant centipede and ate. My tummy later had aches. But i survived and developed into man i am today.

no the venom was injected from the fangs,so it's a bite not sting, and you might be fooled by the video he showed but look up closely,(Ik I'm late lol)

I live in a place where desert is near to my home, buildings are still constructing yet there's a lot of sand land surrounded by my house and we encounter centipede & scorpios like every other week. Luckily never get bitten by both. But they're huge!!

I am terrified of centipedes once I found one and I screamed so loud that everyone else thought I was hurt

Just because it doesn't go into your bloodstream doesn't mean your body wouldn't reject it if it got in another way. Also, blood goes to your stomach when you ingest things, so there's still a chance.

Rattlesnake is a classic example it makes that rattle noise to scare larger animals away from it, why would it have such a defense mechanism if all it wanted to do was go around biting things.

I'm with you on your centipede phobia Coyote, when I was stationed in Hawaii (Oahu) there were thousands of those things in the field; under logs, rocks, etc. The average size was about 6-8 inches. A few of my friends were bitten and they said it was like being burned with a cigarette that lasted about 15 minutes; one friend put on his helmet after setting it on the ground and was bitten on the back of the neck!. They're evil bugs for sure.

here in New Mexico we get them in the house all the time. Usually they come in pairs, so if you find one, there's most likely another.
