Following the launch of the IMechE’s “Adapting industry to rising temperatures and future heatwaves” report, this webinar recording looks at how environmental regulation is helping us to better prepare for a rapidly changing climate and future weather extremes, delivered by the Environment Agency.
Speakers will present a sobering reminder and overview of the sort of climate change induced extreme weather impacts we are seeing, highlighting the risks they pose to regulated industry. They will explore case studies from the UK, including storms, heatwaves and drought.
The work of the Environment Agency includes fostering a resilient transition to Net Zero, encouraging adaptation alongside decarbonisation and as such, speakers will describe the activities they are carrying out to reduce the number of environmental incidents and improved compliance alongside the continued protection of our precious ecosystems.
This webinar will outline the work the Environment Agency are doing to support operators to adapt and become more resilient, including an overview of available support and guidance online. There will also be an opportunity to learn about the ISO 14090 standard on adaptation planning and ISO 14091 on adaptation risk assessments.
