A whitetail’s most dramatic antler growth occurs in the month of July. Like a rollercoaster clanking its way up the lift hill, his testosterone has begun the steady climb that will take him all the way through velvet shed and into the rut. By mid-August his rack will be fully formed, and then it’s go time.
