A brief history of the Dalek Wars

Humanity fought several wars against the Daleks between the 22nd and 42nd centuries, in a series of conflicts known as the 'Dalek Wars'. These include the Dalek Invasion of Earth, the Second Dalek War, the Third Dalek War and the Great Dalek War. This video contains a brief overview of these wars and explains which Dalek episodes relate to these conflicts.

I really wish we had a Dalek strategy-type game where we could play as either Davros or the Supreme Dalek. The game could start on Skaro and the objective could be to conquer the universe and alone the way you can upgrade your Daleks and make special units of Daleks such as assault Daleks with blowtorches or flamethrower Daleks. and edit their appearance to look like iconic Dalek styles such as the Imperials, Renegades, Time-war, Etc.

I've always wanted a game like that - I recall there used to be a mod for Star Wars: Empire at War which added lots of different races from other sci-fi universes, including Doctor Who. It was quite a barebones mod and I don't think it works anymore, but it was a fun way of simulating Dalek fleets battling other sci-fi ships like Star Destroyers and Romulan warbirds. The advantage of adding Daleks to a space battle game mod is that all of their ships are basically the same saucer design in different sizes, so it's really easy to make assets for them in blender. I think there's also a Stellaris Dalek mod, I should try that one day and review it for the channel

@@dalekbumps The Stellaris mod is pretty fun. It's functional, but admittedly not the most detailed. There's also a Dalek Advisor mod, which works despite being for an older version.

I love how it's not just the Doctor being the only one capable of beating them back. The rest of the universe isn't totally defenseless, despite the sacrifices needed to ensure Dalek defeat.

The 2nd Dalek War is def one of my favorite eras of Dalek history because it’s such a weird point in their culture. Facing unexpected determination from humans while trying to nail down time-travel really makes the whole thing wild.

Everyone claims the Dalek casings in “Genesis of the Daleks” not looking like the original ones in “The Daleks” is a plot hole. But it’s not. In the serial, Davros and other Kaled scientists state multiple times that they are Mark III travel machines. This implies that there was a Mark I and Mark II before hand. My theory is that the Daleks we see in both “The Daleks” and “The Dalek Invasion of Earth” are earlier Daleks, prototypes you could say. First Davros created the Daleks seen in “The Daleks”, but their casings and genomes was too primitive. They couldn’t even leave the city he created them in. Next was the Mark II, better but they were to bulky. So he abandoned them as well. Finally he created the official first Daleks, in brand new Mark III travel machines. So the Mark I Daleks, Mark II Daleks, and Mark III Daleks were all in separate cities or sectors of Skaro. The Mark I Daleks remained trapped in their city, unable to leave. These Daleks were eventually destroyed by the Doctor in “The Daleks”. The Mark II Daleks would eventually build spacecrafts and venture out into space where they would conquer Earth eventually being defeated by the Doctor. Eventually the Mark III Daleks would escape the bunker and would meet up with the Mark II Daleks. They would combine the overall design of the Mark III casing with the coloration of the Mark I and II casings, creating a recolored version of the Mark III travel machine to symbolize the unification of the Daleks. Eventually the recently combined former Mark II and Mark III Daleks would discover the remains of the Mark I Daleks. Viewing security cameras within the Dalek City, they would single out a particular individual with white hair and a unique suit. The former Mark II Daleks would look over security recording from when the Earth was under the rule of the Daleks and discover that same individual. The Mark III Daleks would also remember vaguely of an alien man that despite having different appearance also called himself the Doctor. The Daleks would determine that this Doctor was a threat to their rising Empire and must be destroyed. Eventually they would create a time machine leading to “The Chase”. A group of Daleks would get lost and be put in stasis, eventually being discovered by the 2nd Doctor (The Power of the Daleks). Mission to the Unknown The Daleks’ Masterplan The Evil of the Daleks The Daleks would remain fractured after “The Evil of the Daleks”. Eventually they would converge on Skaro where they would discover the Emperor and few Daleks still alive. The Daleks would work to rebuild their empire and their forces. Building new Mark III travel machines based off the original color design. Although a few would only change the color of the sensor globes and eyestalk and would become scientists (Death to the Daleks). Their next scheme would involve Earth (Day of the Daleks). They would reconquer what was rightfully theirs. Meanwhile the Daleks in present day would come up with a scheme to cause a war between the Earth Empire and Dragonians with the help of the Time Lord criminal, The Master (Frontier in Space/Planet of the Daleks) in an attempt to weaken both sides as their empire was still relatively weak from the events of “The Evil of the Daleks”. The Daleks would send a scientific team in “Death to the Daleks”. At some point the Dalek Empire would be back to their former strength if not more so. But they would come into conflict with the Movellans, a race of androids. The Daleks would begin to remove more and more organic material from themselves into they were essentially robots with a brain. “Destiny of the Daleks” The Daleks would begin to create new Daleks with their full organic bodies. However the Movellans would develop a virus that would once again weaken the Dalek Empire causing multiple factions to form. “Resurrection of the Daleks” Eventually the Daleks would either find a cure or become immune to the virus and reassemble their Empire once again. Meanwhile Davros managed to survive and was building a new race of human Daleks. “Revelation of the Daleks” Davros would manage to overthrow the Emperor, either killing or forcing it to retreat and go into exile. He would create the Imperial Dalek Empire. Those that refused to follow Davros joined the Supreme Dalek and fled Skaro forming the Renegade faction. “Remembrance of the Daleks” “Terror Firma” “War of the Daleks” (Skaro in “Remembrance of the Daleks” is revealed to have been a decoy.) The Imperial Daleks and Renegade Daleks would eventually unite and declare war on the Time Lords.

The Mark I travel Machine is Davros' own chair, which he adapted to make the Mark II travel machine (which has never actually been seen, but is assumed to look something like the early Dalek design concept art)

The Dalek Empire series takes place during the 'Great War', following the Third Dalek War but before the Time War. I don't tend to mention the Dalek Empire series on the channel because its sort of a narrative dead-end - it's from the early days of Big Finish so it's a bit rough around the edges and honestly I don't find the actual story all that interesting. Dalek Universe with David Tennant is a much better example of a Dalek-themed series in my opinion. I'll do full videos on both series soon enough

Honestly I want a story in the future to have a point in time where the Daleks are the dominant species of the universe, (to mention the continuity from the Genesis of the Daleks) enslaving Civilisations of planets, destroying the rest and even wiping out The time lords only have a few species left like humanity, Mallevonians, Thals, ect. . And the doctor finally destroys the Daleks for good (the real final end but influences Davros to destroy his creations and marking the end of the Daleks as a means to do so, BUT in like the near end of the universe’s history yk? As in where this story takes place

The Sontarans fought the Daleks separately, but never allied with humanity. As far as we can tell from Series 4, the Judoon and the Shadow Proclamation wanted to help but never got the opportunity, at least not that we've seen thus far
