Trent thank you so much for your prayer before your hunts. You have no idea how many people you are reaching this way. If we could all just spend a moment on our hunts , and ponder what we see . It is just not an accident. It is a creation from God . How much are we loved by him to be able to enjoy it. Arise, kill, and eat. Thank you Lord . Thank you Trent for making this a part of the message of who you guys are.

Just really had to say this, y'all seem Soo relaxed in this year of LOF! I don't know, maybe it's the relief of being closer to home. Staying in your home state and reducing the driving miles, whatever it is, it's showing in everyone's spirits. 😁

I made a horrible shot this year on my first archery elk hunt. I practiced daily. Got in shape. Listened to any knowledge that was given or found. When the moment came everything left my mind and I forgot to stop him. My shot was back. It was an agonizing wait before picking up the trail. When we did there was only a couple of drops of blood. His racks were easy to follow. He went straight down hill to a three stand but didn’t jump it. We stood there working out the track and started along the fence line. Two steps in my buddy said there’s your bull. He only went 30 more yards. The lord blessed me that day. Thank you guys for all the wisdom you pass on to us.

Even had he put the arrow just behind the shoulder it would have been headed for guts at that angle... Very lucky if it caught some liver on the way. these guys have been hunting forever and every year they post one of them taking the same quartering to shot and the arrow sticks in the shoulder with little penetration.. Then they say "these are the highs and lows of hunting"... Not nearly as many lows if you take good shots

@@mervjb809 I dont know... Seems like I was there with that HD film... Maybe his release failed while at full draw? Or maybe...Just maybe...He took a stupid shot. Im not saying hes not a good guy. Im saying he took sent an arrow at a huge animal with huge bones at a terribly low percentage angle for a clean kill... Am I wrong?

This has been a great season with great content! Trent! Review , learn. review, learn and review! On learning, I always have a small pump sprayer bottle of hydrogen peroxide. When the tracking gets tough, even a very small drop (like a pinhead) will foam up. Invaluable when the tracks get mixed, or possible blood in a track. Keep your heads up!

That bull was basically a frontal shot. Certainly wasn't close to broadside.. doesn't look like it hit shoulder blade from where the arrows sitting it's bottom of chest behind line of leg possibly deflected of leg bone..

That is part bowhunting. Nobody likes it but it does happen. Elk are extremely tough animals. That bull will live to bugle another day. I had a 5X5 that I thought I hit great (more penetration than the double lung 5X6 recovered in 2020), heard ribs crack. Watched it lay down 3 times in three hours only to get back up. Could not get in for another shot. It wandered off finally and we lost it. A friend had it on trail cam 2.5 miles away 41 hours after the shot. I had him on another camera chasing a cow 11 days after the hit (saw the mark on his side), four days after that another friend saw him in their pasture with 12 cows. Keep your chin up and keep going
