I’m convinced this man is a hardcore book maniac than me. Wish I can convince him to sell a few of his books but man India is such a far away place.

I have been to this book place back in 2018. The truth is Mr.Gavindraju has a lot of books , rare or not is for the customer to decide. Now as a book collector, I didn't find this place as my cup of tea but yes he had a set of books that is worth;y for a read. I have to agree, if you are into collecting old advertisements, this is a place to visit. It will be worth your while. All the more the rarity is not in the books but in the person Mr. Govindraju himself. In this world of madness, the rarity is people of sanity. You will love to hear the wonderful stories and knowledge about subjects you will never understand.

@@venkatadrinarayanan2693 I am aware, he passed away i think 2 years ago. His garage was taken over by some film producer or someone in the film fraternity is what i heard ( that person was a book collector of sorts). A good man and good soul was Mr. Govindraju.

@@SUBhash_KK18 Sorry for the extremely late reply to your message. Unfortunately Mr. Govindraju passed away and i heard someone bought over the books. So I am not aware if the place still exists or not. Maybe someday when i visit chennai again I will drop down to that road/place for a memory.

update : its permanently closed. Just checked google. This was the address 45/50,Second Main Road, R.A.Puram,, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600028. It was called RARE BOOKS.

I have a balcony and and Hall filled with books ranging from story books for children to novels and national Geographic magazines starting from 1931. I am a book lover and all my childhood comics from 1985 are still in mint condition. However, since I am a big comic fan does anyone here know about places to buy old comics.

Please everyone, I must tell you, I have visited his shop multiple times, and he is very very #Greedy man, he exorbitantly charges for everything he sells. Don't recommend if you don't want your wallet to be robbed. He is also a nasty fellow with abusive language.

@@holysupermichael it is my personal experience, either you are extremely wealthy to spend money like water or you must have never visited the shop, I collect a lot of old and rare stuffs including books, I somewhat know the trending prices of old stuffs, so I am not saying just like that.. And that man is Greedy as hell
