    I have a question. How come some people considered Bonobos the fourth great ape when they are basically just another type of Chimpanzee? There are also different types of Gorillas and Orangutans, but they aren't divided into completely different ape species like how Common Chimpanzees and Bononos are. Here's the two species that fall under the "Pan" genus category: Common chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes) Bonobos (Pan paniscus) Here's the two species that fall under the "Gorilla" genus category: Western gorillas (Gorilla gorilla) Eastern gorillas (Gorillia beringei) Here's the three species that fall under the "Pongo" genus category: Sumatran orangutans (Pongo abelii) Bornean orangutans (Pongo pygmaeus) Tapanuli orangutans (Pongo tapanuliensis) So I think it's pretty stupid when Bonobos get treated as the fourth great ape since they are Chimps.

  • @GustavoLadeira42

    @GustavoLadeira42

    Жыл бұрын

    @@searain1573 those other species could have different names as well, they just don't. Bonobos have EXTREMELY different behaviour from chimps, that's why people treat them as so divergent.

    We do not know what he/it really understands or not. It is a Bonobo in captivity for many years and of course it has adapted many human-like behaviour, because they watch and mimic human behaviour. That is part of their skills to learn what they see. And this ape underwent a lot of training by his caretakers I would assume.

    Something this smart should not be in a cage

    It may seem like a bad cage, but that's just one area of several that he can choose to go to. It has to be somewhat bare to prevent distractions when he decides to participate in computer experiments. He can leave that room at any time and go to the other areas, including a large outdoor area with woods.

    It is insane how much the bonobo understood, I can’t believe that, and there are people out there that think we couldn’t possibly be the same thing as these apes, how could you look one of these things in the eye and not see apart of us, it’s so clear that these are our cousins.

    This guy is so amazing 😍❤️ Can you imagine, that in new years night 2019/2020 in Germany more than 30 (!) primates (including gorillas, shimpanzees and Orang-Utans) burnt to death in a zoo, because three super dump ladies made chinese lanterns fly. It was just devastating 😩😤😱
