I kinda love that so many textures are just recolored and slightly altered blocks, it makes everything feel more cohesive. In this world, that's just how tubes look, wether it's dynamite sticks or bamboo blocks. if sugarcane had a block it would probably be given a similar treatment. i think this helps lessen the reaction of "it doesn't feel 'minecraft' enough" when introducing new blocks

Bamboo having explosive powder is kinda accurate to how the first rockets and fireworks worked. Also the tnt block has 16 sticks of dynamite. It should be WAY bigger of an explosion.

And that's considering the TNT block is actually dynamite, not TNT at all. If it WAS TNT, you'd have a solid 1m³ block of high explosive. Considerably less volume made highly explosive shells in both world wars.

@@staringgasmask Although TNT is very low sensitivity so it would just burn if you tried to ignite it with a flint and steel, unless there was enough of it for it to get hot enough to melt.

Makes sense since bamboo is hollow inside. the crafting recipe would be string, gunpowder and bamboo, the small tnt could be placed individually or combined like candles, the more sticks the more powerful the explosion is

Using bamboo as a fuse for something would be an awesome feature. We need some kind of fuse, like placing gunpowders directly on a block.

I know we have redstone to light tnt from a distance, but it’s like, almost instantaneous, and I really like the whole fuse thing you did with the bamboo. So… placeable gunpowder. It places like redstone dust to slowly ignite something from a distance.

Netherrack is more like dirt or clay than cobblestone, Blackstone is literally the Nether’s equivalent of cobblestone.

I would love a resource pack that adds a secondary TNT recipe. One bamboo block, 4 gunpowder, and a string.

So now instead of making TNT, Sand and gunpowder make a bamboo block. That means creepers should place a ton of scaffolding instead of exploding, and ghasts should shoot a flaming scaffolding at you. You should also be able to strip Creepers, Ghasts, and Sand. All bamboo blocks should be affected by gravity, since they’re just a bunch of powder.

bangboo might not necessarily be a good idea, but it's a fun one! also this could easily be adapted into bomb flowers for a loz mod

Yes texture motifs. Many textures have them. Including many of the stone types. Cobblestone, Glowstone, Endstone, Netherack and all that. Its a clever way of keeping the game consistent in a weird way and also a great way to not have to make a whole new texture for something when you already have a perfect base to go off of! Bedrock is just recolored regular stone. You see this in more obviously examples too like with sand, clay, red sand, concrete powder and regular bricks and nether bricks.

Loads of companies do it, look at all 6 variations of NPC in GTA. All with the same animations and 3 voice actors. Or all of the amazing voices behind Skyrim NPC men, like Todd Howard, Todd Howard, Todd Howard and the real MVP Todd Howard. Or take a shot every time you encounter a Zigzagoon in Pokémon, "kidney failure speedrun any%" At least Bamboo doesn't also explode, Mojang is the least lazy slob on the sofa; which doesn't say much but at least they tried.

Fun fact! If you put whole pieces of bamboo(not split in half) in a fire, it’ll explode! This is because the sections have air inside, which expands will cause an explosion

It would be so cool if you could place gunpowder on the floor like redstone and use it a a fuse for TNT! I know redstone do the same but the delay and particles would make it fun 😬

ngl this should be an actual feature. i mean, which makes more sense: gunpowder contained inside stalks of bamboo (which was actually the first use of gunpowder back when it was invented), or 2 powdery substances with somehow enough cohesion to materialize into a cube with minimal effort? To elaborate, gunpowder was originally put inside stalks of bamboo, and then chucked into a fire. the resulting explosion was believed to scare off evil spirits. coincidentally, this is also the first ever recorded instance of the pipe bomb. Also, i find it weird that gunpowder is called gunpowder in minecraft, a world where guns don't exist. i think merging gunpowder and blaze powder would be a good choice, since they sound like they'd have similar properties, and it would help with Mojang's goal to make minecraft more PG -friendly
