This is a guy who appreciates whiskey without being pretentious, who doesn't shame people for not being experts. A lot of content creators could learn something from him.

I think there are lots of better bourbons than the 101, but for $25 or less? Nothing beats it in that price range. But there are tons of bourbons priced $30-$90 that 101 can’t compete with at all

Newly into bourbon, after watching a multitude of beginner guides, this one was the best by far. Thanks for actually teaching me something instead of just telling me what bottles I should buy first. Cheers 🥃

Excellent presentation! Clear and concise. I learned a lot. Thank you! ⭐👍
From the perspective of a beginner trying to soak up as much information as possible and having developed just enough knowledge to start figuring out what I like... this was a great show. Plan to get the other two of the three you’ve set out. Have the WT101. Hear good things about 1792 and BT. Very good primer in my humble estimation. Thanks.
Great vid Keep it simple for the new folks.
Great info here! I love how you present information and the effort to help someone who’s new to bourbon understand and appreciate it more.
Thank you very much for this video. I have learned a lot as someone new to Bourbon like myself. Thank you again.
Awesome video! Thank You for the insight into bourbon!
I've recently gotten interested in bourbon. I've watched a lot of video and yours are some of the best. Concise and informative. I look forward to more.
I really experienced bourbon for the first time at a friend's bachelor party last night. I tried Larceny, and was immediately hooked. So, I'm looking up some content on KZread for being a bourbon newb. Thanks for putting up this video. It was a great primer for me!

Thanks, when I first decided to dive into bourbon, I went into the liquor store and spent $440 across 12 or so different bottles not having a clue how or where to start. Hopefully folks see this and do it more intelligently than I did.
Great stuff again.

@@WhiskeyRow kinda new to whiskey. I started with enjoying a old fashioned . I liked the rye with the old fashioned but did not enjoy it neat. I am experimenting with bourbon atm. I have tired wild turkey 101 and rare breed buffalo trace ,the standard one, makers mark and the 46 and private select. Ocean by Jefferson was probably my favorite.

Great intro to bourbon video! I've got a long ways to go to be able to tease out all the tasting notes you do on your blind taste tests. I'm considering getting a nosing kit to home in on notes I may not be recognizing. But I'm getting better, just takes time along this amazing bourbon journey I've recently embarked on! Keep up the amazing work!

New here! Phenomenal presentation 👏
Still a beginner, but modest lower/middle collection is built and pallete is filling out. Had three pours tonight. Buffalo Trace for opener, Rebel Distillers Collection 113P barrel pick, and a Wild Turkey 101 to close it out. Its hard to beat Wild Turkey 101 and Old Forester signature(100 P) in the $30 and under world.
I too am lifting my “spirits” with a little WT Kentucky Spirit!

Another great video as i wanted a refresher!! I enjoy some of my high proof bourbons “chilledz’...a tuber recommended an item called NEAT which is a product that works well!! It is a company run by veterans as well. The science behind their product chills the whiskey 10 fold what “stones or rocks” do and drops the temp to a perfect chilled pour!! Just a comment and i am no affiliated with this company !!

Fun Fact: Bourbon is to Whiskey as Champagne is to sparkling white wine. The uninitiated use terms like "American Bourbon", sometimes, which is amusing to connesiours, because it's redundant and implies there is any other kind. By default, if it's a Bourbon, it's American.
Will you let me know what adding water does? I've added a few drops to test it out and it always seems it turns flat. The flavor falls. How does adding water to the glass lower the abv or proof since your drinking the same volume?
@joshrosey9760
3 жыл бұрын
When you are adding water. That water has volume so the proof or abv goes down. Water sometimes opens up whiskey giving it more aromatics.

It's very important when adding water or using ice . Use limestone filter water . That's the water used during distillation process. Using any other kind of water will drastically change the flavor of the bourbon . Never use tap water
I wonder if a whiskey was made in a US embassy in a country outside of the US and it followed all the rules of bourbon production, since embassies are considered "foreign soil" and therefore a US embassy would be considered to be owned and operated by the US, would that whiskey be legally classified as bourbon?

@@WhiskeyRow this is great! I mean, while i like reviews, & blind tastings, bracket tournaments, etc. I actually prefer the informational videos like this that aren't as common. Some of my favorites are when you used the barrels to age those whiskey's yourself. I enjoy videos on tips & tricks for finding allocated bottles, or when channels show you which cheaper bottles are almost the same or good substitutes for the expensive, hard to find ones. I wanna learn more about the tasting process, the notes, the stages (like: what's a finish, etc). Keep up the great work!
No artificial colour can be added to bourbon . Bourbon can be aged as low as 1 year or few months to be called bourbon but straight bourbon has to be aged at least 2 years . If straight bourbon is aged less than 4 year the age should be mentioned on the label . please correct me if i’m wrong .
