Im about to commence the restoration of my EJ. Fortunately its been in the family since its purchase in '66.and has been relatively protected throughout its life so far. Thanks for the interesting trivia comparing the EJ with the EH. EJ;s are largely forgotten. I look forward to following you on your journey of restoring her.

Mate as a child of the sixties, the question of 60s fords and Holden's was what didn't rust! I remember shopping for cars and parking them so the sun showed the already bulging bog covering huge rust problems. If you looked at a car and it had a lovely fresh new paint job, you kept walking I notice you've also had washing machine problems too. The EJ was fine except for the 1940s grey motor🙈🙉🙊

I love EJ/EH utes and have a project going at the moment. But, though they are the best looking ute Holden made IMO, we really need to question our sanity to pursue a car which rusts SOOO badly. A sign of the manufacturing times. I imagine, Holden didn't expect there would be any left after 60 years.

Great vid Graham!! Isn't it funny that the EJ had much more extravagant styling everywhere - & it's update (EH) was much more simplified. Tiger.

The EJ definitely took some cues from America (late 50s - early 60s Chev).

Holden sent an EJ to America for evaluation and when Harley Earl saw it, he drew up the EH and sent the design back to Melbourne.

My EJ had rust in the front guards just above the chrome trim over the headlights and the rear left floor had pinhole rust because a little cup fitting had been dented, oh and the car was all of 3 years old, pale primrose yellow colour.

My first car was an EJ, 13×7 jellybeans on the back, 149 red, prem console and ap6 buckets fitted. 1/3 turn play in the steering wheel. My first real car was a 265 auto VH Charger.

My Brother was lucky about 12 months ago. he had always wanted an EH, and found an original survivor example in pristine condition. its had a respray at one stage in its life, in its factory white colour, but otherwise its just as it rolled out the factory. when he go it home he spent a day going over it with a fine tooth comb and it doesn't have a spot of rust anywhere to be found on it. not often you'll find them like that these days.
