I've looked everywhere in my area for that charanda in the past and I can't find it anywhere

I’d love to see a video comparing the effects of subbing out charranda, cachaca, agricole, and clairin for one another! I imagine you could do that and it would work, but I’m curious how well. It would be enlightening to see a Steve the Barman or How to Drink style comparison with a few cocktails selected and a lineup of the various options compared side by side.

Is uruapan charanda similar in any way to agricole rums like paranubes or it IS less complex?

Why do a lot of bartenders get “offended” when I tell them that I do NOT want any garnish of any kind with my drinks? Does that throw them off or some shit, lol.

Garnishes are frequently used to add an aroma that changes how the drink tastes. It can be a pretty pronounced difference. They might think you aren't aware of that, but at the end of the day, it's your drink. If you prefer it without the garnish, that's how it should be served.

@@OlinKreutzRules No problem :) It's kind of a fun experiment, if you've never done it, to make a drink like an old fashioned and try it before and after adding the garnish. Citrus rinds in particular make a big difference because they have a lot of oils that are "expressed" over the drink prior to dropping it in.
