A Beach Nightmare: our Motorhome Stuck on Sand
In this video, we'll discuss how to avoid a motorhome getting stuck in sand. We'll cover things like sand safety, how to get out if you get stuck, and how to prepare for a sand emergency.
Yeah right!!! just do the exact opposite of everything we do and you will be just fine.
This is our third incident of getting our van stuck, you would think we would learn... and actually we do
1, muddy pitch ~ wont do that again
2, a big hole in a field ~ wont do that again
3, A sandy beach ~ wont do that again
however we cant promise we wont drive it off a cliff, or into the sea etc etc etc
We are Overlanders at heart... with a vehicle more suited to a weekend at the club campsite in whitby
Please Subscribe to follow us, we aren't always this disaster prone, but we are excelling ourselves currently

Oh my! What a kerfuffke! We got stuck in the soft sand on the Bay of St Tropez, but luckily our rubber mats got us out. You certainly had a saviour with the winch guy, but Slaw was on the edge of his seat shouting at you! Stop driving! Just let him pull you out!! I’ve not seen him so animated for a while 😂 Thanks for the entertainment 🎉

😂😂😂 loving the image of Slaw yelling at us! We are starting to think we are just one big teachable moment in this trip 😂 Just watch what we do very carefully and then do the opposite 😂 Hope your French trip is going well, looks gorgeous on the vlogs ❤️

If you ever get stuck again let the tyres down by around 80% of their normal pressure. Obviously they'll look very flat but provide huge amounts of grip with so much less air in them. I've used this method many times with great success. I should say it's just the driven (fronts in your case) wheels you let down. Just be sure you have something to inflate them with.
Thanks everyone for watching! It’s very embarrassing that this happened again! But we’ve learned our lesson about sand (and mud and holes) Have you ever got stuck on the sand? Please let us know so we feel less stupid 🤦🏼♀️

Yes! We’ve learned a fair few lessons the hard way! 😂 BUT it’s all part of the experience of living on the road we keep telling ourselves Thanks so much for watching
We were deeper that that last summer on French beach. How we get out is . We do carry two timber pieces with us with us. 800 x 250 x 25mm approx. We also have grip mats . We put timber under jack and jack up wheel . Then put our leveling ramp under the wheel so am going to drive down it . lower and remove jack . Drive down the ramp onto timber or grip mat slowly. Stop before of the end and put the other bit of wood so you can drive on to that and so on . Works for us every time . Hmmm Why did I not learn the first time Sounds familiar!

Your motorhome have a faulty design which is found in every motorhome ,the wheels have to be bigger and all terrain A/T tyres , do not confuse with M/T mud tyre , the axle have to be wider , that can be fixed with spacers , ideally tyre size should be 315/70/17 the rim width 8.5 , if you look at the height and the the width of your vehicle you will notice that it have smaller tyres than most of the smaller vehicles like the SUV or 4 wheels drive on the road
