Incredible technique, I think Antonio is going to be one of the world's premier danseurs very soon. I am not sure who put this routine together, it certainly shows off his talent but the choreography did not always make sense with the music that was playing.

Please people. He is a child, not a professional dancer. His time for the ornately decorated production sets has not yet come. He will be there in just a little while more. His parents must be proud of him. I watched some clips of him. He's been doing this since he was very, very young.

Я думала, только у нас плохо снимают балет, но ошиблась. Оформление сцены и сама съемка ужасны, они мешают воспринимать танец, который все-таки является главным в в этом видео. Сам же Антонио хорош, от души желаю ему успешного балетного будущего!

I'd say ABT but sadly not these days ... Royal Opera or La Scala ballet. I know he also loves the Marinsky Ballet but that would take him too far away

The background is so distracting that I cannot watch this great dancer. Sad.

I've seen both Nureyev and Baryshnikov do this live and this performance is the equal of both, but just a tad too athletic. Bravo!

Will balletic circus draw the circus crowd to ballet? Will performing circus hurt António Casalinho's career and reputation? Probably not. And probably not. Why is he doing this? For the experience? Because he needs the money?

What is with that cheap setting. This is a magnificent dancer. If anyone is guiding his career, whomever it is, should be fired. This is world class dancing and this appears to be some xxxxx Got Talent competition. DeplorAble.

Relax. He's just a kid having fun. These competitions are mere practice for him. He wins all of them. I am not a fan of ballet. I don't know why youtube recommended his videos in my feed, but the first clip I saw of him not long ago he wasn't dancing but was being interviewed. I didn't know who he was or even that he is a dancer. He looked about 14 or 15 years old at the time.nBut he was so smart and so humble in his speech that I was impressed and kept watching. Then I saw him dance...and I right away understood why he's so popular. This kid is blessed with amazing talent. I hope he stays humble and grounded. He's going to be a big star in that world.

Well, it's not quite world class. He reminded me of a figure skater, not quite at world class level, say, age 16, who does not sustain constantly the succession of difficult elements and expressive transitions to the point where the audience becomes incredulous. There is, in other words, space when nothing is going on, except a pose, though the music argues for the dancing to continue. What he performed was done with precision and seemed effortless. That aspect of the performance he already has under his belt, so to speak. However, I didn't get a feeling of the swagger that the performance requires or much of any acting at all. Ballet is, after all, theater, and the dancer is portraying a character, either a specific one in a story or one he/she creates. On the other hand, he was 16 in this performance and I find the circumstances not nearly as deplorable as the set decoration, which I agree with other commenters detracted from rather than added to the performance. As long as he continues his serious study and maturation along with getting his name up in lights at an early age, his next twenty years are indeed going to be spectacular. His contribution to making ballet more popular and less elitist a form of entertainment could be significant. Bravo!

He’s magnificent. However, the powers that be should be shot. A Las Vegas setting and cutting constantly from one shot to another while he’s in mid-move is totally anti-ballet and what about moving scenery upstaging this great dancer? What’s more important, the dancer or the glitz? Disgusting presentation.

I agree with you absolutely. The scenograghy and shooting are awful and prevent of watching the dancer. In spite of this Antonio is very & very good. I hope his ballet future will be wonderful.

The dancer is not to blame. This is part of a TV program, a sequel of PORTUGAL got talent (do you know where Portugal is ?) where the audience at home is not accustomed to see ballet dancers in our TV, mostly only circus acrobats and singers, unfortunately singing too frequently american not portuguese songs. The moving scenery is really disturbing, I agree, but you can not imagine how great a triumph it was - even with all these faults - to have a ballet dancer winning this contest.

Brilliant dancer, as seen is Laussane. Not sure what he's doing on a bullshit TV show. Also that floor seems terrible for jumps, even dangerous. This really should not be.

It was years ago and this program help some excellent artist from more areas to have support for their work, it is not so bad as it can seems.
