A dozen is 12, don't take advantage of the poor baker. We can help the people in need, but I don't think it is good to lose fairness to satisfy the mean people. If the girl could not afford a piece of cookie and begged one, it would be mean for the baker not to give her any. The problem is that the girl bought 12, and tried to get an extra one by telling a lie that dozen is 13. It is the girl who should get punished. The moral of the story is so bad.

I think what he does is normal, the girl doesn't look poor at all and she has no special reason why she need 13 cookies, just because she thinks a dozen is 13, which is false. For sure, the man is not that generous. But we can not require others to help us and get to hate them if being rejected

This stories are amazing.but...he was right.this man is just teaching the little spoile d girl maths and the mom also did not raise ths child well and also dont u know that if the girl take a free cookies doesnt she relizes the cookies could sold out fast and he had to buy the matirials again and it cost money but im in lovee with these stories.
