A Badlands Epic

In early 2021, BMC Ride Crew member, Chris Tonge, approached us with the idea to tackle the infamous Badlands ultra-distance gravel race. 750km with over 15000m elevation, crossing the only official deserts in mainland Europe and doing all of this while in a self-supported race? We knew we had to be involved.
This is the story of an epic adventure, of reaching absolute freedom and finding perspective.
The Bike.
When Chris pitched us his idea, we knew we had just the bike. A bike designed for limitless exploration at the edge of gravel innovation. It had to be URS LT.

Love the opening scene... clearly, the filmmaker has talent. Nice down to earth video and subject. Not even in any way overly commercial.
Love this. Every ride, every effort, is worth sharing the story and living in the moment. DNF or finish, it’s always worth doing.
Great film and much respect for this performance. There is no fail trying something like Badlands.
Love this film, I ride the badlands this year to, and we rolled a few kilometers together. But unfortunately I couldn't finish it. This race kills you in every way! Chris, next year we finish it!

I thought this was a self supported race. So how come he has a van following. Nice camera work, but not in the true spirit of the race.

The van you see was the film crew's... no assistance is allowed at Badlands.
