I think millennials and boomers are both sensitive, it's just that millennials are more vocal when it comes to things that aren't right for them. Also, they are acknowledging things like mental health, freedom of expression and the likes.

I like the last sentence, millennials acknowledging these things. It's very true and I think it's one of our strenghts. But sometimes we act too much about it, it's making us self centered we always talk about it, about ourselves and I find it too much sometimes it's cringy.

Tito Dennis is the pleasant boomer that we always wanted to talk to, he’s very open-minded unlike other boomers who’s not open which I agree that many boomers are not open or adaptive to change cause they think that having more amount of experience make them more knowledgeable on most things. Second, I like how Francis answered the technology part. I think it’s not technology who pressures us to learn and experience everything. I think being on a younger generation whose parents are mostly boomers, we don’t want to experience the same experiences of our parents (which they keep on sharing growing up), like how they aren’t able to do what they wanted to do in life back then cause their parents are strict, like how important it is to plan first before getting married, cause it’s hard to raise a kid and provide for the family. That’s why many millennials are striving to be successful and stable, eventhough we don’t know on what certain level should we settle. Haaaay. Like imagine many boomers got married on their early and mid 20s, meanwhile us, we’re still single up until this age. 😂

For me the reason why others go to another place to find themselves is because they can't express themselves freely in the place they are in. It's not like they have 'left themselves there', but more like 'found themselves there'.

namiss ni millennial rep yung one factor kung bakit karamihan ay sensitive about anything. it's social media. a lot of millennials would always look for validation from other people to the point na once something does not go their way, it would make them feel bad. also cancel culture plays a big role. konting kibot, galit na galit na agad at gagawa na ng napakahabang thread sa twitter. anyway, ganda ng usapan nila. smooth lang yung conversation.

Disclaimer lmao: this is to the general public but this thread was a good place to put it. I think it would be a fair assessment to consider that there are two types (at the least) of millenial/gen z's on the internet. There are the extremely sensitive-- misguided preachers of the what nots and what should be. Those are the ones who ostracize and get into cat fights. They are still developinh and should be guided into the right way to communicate their ideas and to contemplate more about their own roles and inner biases, philosophies before screaming at everyone on the internet. But its absurd to exoect that of a whole growing generatiom when we have boomers who are also like that. On the other side, there are the ones who try to educate themselves as best as possible, who try to educate others and those who have learned that there is a certain boundary and intolerability that we must not allow to be crossed. Dito na po papasok yung fighting racism, anti marcos (his propaganda and history revisionism), socmed activism including yung sa sexual harrassment, gender inequality, domestic violence and abuse, and government abuse and corruption. Minsan masasabi niyong palagi silang galit, maybe its because theyve had enough. Minsan naman masasabi niyong joke lang naman eh bakit naging issue, maybe consider that your biases and normal meter has gone done so low that you have forgotten to treat humans with dignity and compassion (ex. You joke with your lgbt friend about his sexuality, hes uncomfortable and tells you so, and you reject his emotions, claiming its a joke and that he shouldnt be hurt. In this instance, you label the queer friend as sensitive. However, you might have disregarded the fact that his family abused and disowned him for his sexuality and making a joke about sexuality+family or whatever might have triggered trauma. Kumbaga, kulang ka na sa sensitivity. And normal lang yung sensitivity ng millenial/gen z. Maybe the past generation would only keep quiet and hide their hurt, but whats good about this generation is that it doesnt tolerate abuse or mistreatment and we speak out. Your responsibility as a human being in this society is to identify which is which and to give people the benefit of the doubt. Assesd your personal biases as well. Skl.

I think we millenials are more sensitive because we’ve seen our parents and grandparents holding back their feelings and thoughts until they’ve had enough and they blow up. There’s also that toxic filipino culture where you cannot speak up to your elders or your authorities because they “know more”. We’ve learned that we need to speak up if we feel unfair, opressed, neglected.

People with different types of intelligence should meet. People often ask for what they don't have and sometimes it becomes toxic, specially with the social media age because everyone has some sort of urge to prove themselves to other people, even random stranger from the internet. People should learn to appreciate who they are intellectually and stop deprecating themselves just because someone seems to be better than them at something. You're good enough, you should know that.

Medyo odd lang for me yung part na sinabi ng millenial about the boss scolding him, as his parents should be the only one doing it. As what kuya "boomer" has implied, you have to put some boundaries and manage your expectations especially in a corporate setup. The driving force of a business is profit, and if you make a mistake that may compromise it then it is natural na mapagalitan/mapagsabihan ka for that. I myself have been scolded few times in the office and at first it do really hurt. But sometimes you just have to change your perspective whenever receiving criticism especially in work as it is not something that defines you as a person but a way to improve you as an employee/professional. Learn to compromise so that we may have a harmonious relations between us Millenieals and Baby Boomers. 😁

I have to agree with Tito, you can really find yourself at home. The hard thing is to detach to the social media world which is a major factor that contributes to us millennials being soft. I myself was soft, but when I went home and did not use any social media platform for a week, it was the best week of my life.

On the part where it discussed na sinigaw sigawan ka ng boss mo, it makes you feel worse because you already knew that you did a mistake and you are already owning it before ka pa sinigaw sigawan. Hindi yun pagiging sensitive, you just can't detach your feelings from your work as easy as older people do kasi nga you want your job to be something you enjoy and be passionate about.

We can learn a lot from people from all walks of life. It's learning to listen and understanding our differences that make things productive and worthwhile. Inspiring. 🙂 People have to use helpful communication with their employees but I think it's ok to get angry when employees are lazy or not executing properly. People can be butthurt about things and think that everything is argumentative if you baby them too much. I think there should be a balance and I agree that you have to get to know the person and find out what works for him, or train him to adjust to the work environment's standards cause not everybody should be entitled.

Both my parents are early boomers, mom was born in 1948 and dad was born in 1953. I think there is little in common between those of my mom's age and those who were born in the 60s. Meanwhile all my siblings are early Millennials born in 1981, 1984, 1986 and 1988 (+). Contrary to what these two generations think but they have a lot of similarities than what they thought. I notice that they are both idealistic, optimistic, sensitive, entitled, too concerned for image & status and childlike. Gen X (my generation) is much more different than these two despite having a closer age gap for either of these two.

Yall should do drunken history like the ones from “comedy central” i know you could pull it off i was planning to do ghat actually kahit pang school work lang pero i could not haha so yah i think you should do it here’s why: you guys could pull it off, no one has ever done drunken history in the philippines yet, it will help the youth including myself learn more about history of our country (aside from Rizal and other heroes) in a very entertaining way, it will not be boring cause well there is drinking and its informative, no one has done it before etc madami pa hope you read thisssss. 💖

There is a clear misconception when millenials say that they have to find themselves. Finding your self for us millenials is not actually about finding our old self but finding the part of us we don't meet yet...and we cannot find that if we keep doing the same thing that boxed us into people's idea of who we are, or staying in the same place we obviously outgrew....
