yes all Korean native men do have to serve but even tho BM is korean, he won't have to serve since he is American (born/raised and still has an american citizenship) . now u can get exempted out for health issues or if u don't carry Korean citizenship even if u r still Korean. so most foreign members or Korean members with non-korean citizenship won't serve. like Felix from Stray Kids (Australian), or Mark (Canadian)/Johhny (American) from NCT, or Chinese/Thai members, ect. so as long as u have citizenship other than Korea (even if u are still Korean) you won't have to serve.
