Okay, so I took a chance to go see the infamous site of where the stone was buried. Had it all planned out in my head that I would track down the site with several gallons of vinegar and a wicked smile on my face. Here's the thing. The burial site is somewhere hidden in miles and miles of desloate wasteland. It's been 3 years since this thing was buried so the dirt has settled. I just stood there for a while, flabbergasted at the ridiculous thought that I had the ability to find this stupid thing. Then I realized why people wanted to trash this stone to begin with. There's nothing here. This stupid rock is an empty legacy. Breaking it actually gives the stone meaning, because finding it and leaving a mark is something worth talking about. But instead, it's going to rot away never to be seen again. Ironically, this thing is more likely to be found by construction workers and blown to bits without ever leaving a footnote in history to its conclusion. Take it from someone who took a few hours of their life to search for this worthless piece of rock, don't waste your time.

Even if it is undug years or decades later instead of lost to the sands of time, built on top of, or destroyed by some other random event it’s not going to mean anything. They made it out of limestone, which already degrades easily and and then they literally buried it in sand, hell it’s probably ALREADY unreadable if not fractured in pieces. Even if somebody was able to go through the immense amount of trouble to find it in the literal middle of nowhere, even if they could actually spend the ridiculous amount of time and money to dig it up without breaking it further it doesn’t mean anything. It’s not going to be old enough or in good enough condition to be worth anything to anyone (either monetarily or as a history lesson), 9gag is already a dead website and this was just a cheap PR stunt to try to prevent it. There are two words in “time capsule” and this stone won’t stand the test of time, and it isn’t really a “capsule” of anything. This video is probably the most traction this stone has gotten and will ever get. They would have been far better actually putting the stone somewhere (like in their offices or in an art gallery) instead, at least then it would have been as interesting as Shia’s flag stunt!

This should just become a tradition for anons: like many christians are undertaking a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostella (or whatever it's called) Anons should walk to the 9gag stone location, carrying bottles of vinegar from home as a representation for the dead memes they used/laugh at. When reaching the stone's location, you pour your vinegar onto the earth.... This can be a right of passage. This cam be a way to cleanse yourself. This can be a way to be re-integrated into 4chan if you became a normie. This can be the 4 chan pilgrimage.... If anyone would ever leave their room....

The pyramids hold, after all they are 50 ton blocks of limestone on top of each other, with pretty clean surfaces, which means less places for water to corrode it. However the engravings will allow both ground and rain water to mess that block up.

This, again, just needlessly remind us how modern culture and trends are secreted in such a way as to make quick money and attention on already established ideas without any thought of legacy and longevity to begin with.
