I received a call on the 95 percentile with 1 year of work experience and 2 years of career gap. Lol No, I didn't join the IIM, instead, I joined the IIT for my PhD. I was not interested in MBA. I tried CAT for fun without preparation. I had dengue a few days before the test. They don't only look for high percentile. I have no idea about their shortlisting process but one of my friends got into IIM Ahmedabad with 90 percentile.

Or have you lived abroad? 3. How many languages do you know? 4. Do you have work experience? Is your work experience relevant after the MBA degree? 5. Do you have leadership, teamwork, communication, and human management skills? When did you showcase such skills? 6. Do you follow current affairs relevant to your area of choice? This will be important during your interview. Professors can ask you questions on different topics and case scenarios. 7. Can you work under pressure? This will be decided based on your educational background or from your work experience, etc. 8. What are your hobbies? What are your accomplishments besides academics? Did you win prizes - for academics, sports, etc.? 9. Did you start your own business? Did you try to do something besides your usual work life? So, they are not looking for a person who scores 100% in everything. They want a good overall candidate. They may do initial shortlisting based on your scores but once the candidate pool becomes small, they judge candidates on different parameters. For example - if you want to aim for the top IIMs then excellent English-speaking skills are a must. Because you will do internships abroad and/or may get offers from the big MNCs. Here I am talking about "speaking" skills. You may be the top-of-the-creamy layer candidate who scored 99.99%ile in English but if your English-speaking skills are poor, forget about any of the top IIMs.

Bhai ye possible hi nhi h ki tumhari 99.99 percentile ho or tumhe a,b,c se call na aae.., no matter tumhare academics kaise rhe honge, vo bhi samajhte h is baat ko, or tumhari mehnat ko to kam se kam kisi ek me se to call zaroor aaega or tumhara pi would be tougher than rest par aaega zaroor... Good profile. Focus on getting a high percentile in CAT and preparing well for GDPI, and you will be able to crack a good college
