Beautiful cars, but has to be some of the worst racing I've ever seen in my life. I owned a 1997 WS6 back in the day. Mine was an auto. Red in color. I absolutely love the car. I had all the popular bolt-ons at the time. I had an exhaust, gear, underdrive pulley, cold air induction modifications made to the hood, coil, and a few other things. I can't remember everything back in the day. I remember when the 1998 WS6 with the LS1 came out. I lined up with a bone stock one and raced it several times. I was so disappointed because it pulled on me every single time. I wound up putting 150 shot of nitrous on it shortly after that. The LS1 was a game changer in my opinion. LT1 at the time was an amazing motor as well. I also had an lt4 in my Grand sport in that was a killer motor back in 1996. Those are both beautiful cars though. I still love the looks of the 1998 WS6. I think it's one of the most aggressive looking muscle cars to this day.

Looking back, it would have been nice if GM had made '97 F-bodies a full year of factory production LT4 cars. The LT4 was the first-gen 350's best (and final) form. It would be nice to see stock LT4 cars line up with stock LS1 cars. The LS1 would have still bested it, but probably not by much.

Nothing wrong with optispark. It’s just in an inconvenient place that’s all. With proper care and maintenance of the water pump and optispark they will last a lifetime. Also not buying cheap parts as well. A cheap opti will always cause more headache.

@@TexasNEV Honestly? I have heard there has been A LOT of issues surrounding the MSD units. Mostly cheap China optical sensors going out due to heat. I have been looking around and it seems either to try and get an ACDelco remanufactured unit or a Petris Enterprises optispark because they still use a Mitsubishi grade optical sensor. Also a lot of the reason for premature optispark failure is like I mentioned before. People either get a cheap China replacement unit or impropery install the water pump which causes it to leak. I have a 1997 T/A WS6 with 85k on it and have zero issues with the optispark or water pump. It's all in how a person takes care of their car that matters really.
