On Sunday 2 July 2023, the buglers of the Last Post Association sounded the Last Post for the 32,915th day at the Menin Gate in Ieper (Ypres), as we celebrated the 95th anniversary of the very first Last Post on Monday 2nd July 1928. / Op zondag 2 juli 2023 lieten de klaroeners van de Last Post Association voor de 32.915e maal de Last Post weerklinken aan de Menenpoort in Ieper, dag op dag 95 jaar na de allereerste Last Post op 2 juli 1928.

Je ne peux pas ne pas avoir la larme à l’œil en pensant à ces milliers de victimes UK et leur engagement durant la première guerre mondiale. Cette cérémonie est toujours émouvante et nécessaire pour les générations futures.

Last Post has been played at the Menin Gate every evening since 2 July 1928 with the exception of when Ypres was occupied by the Germans during World War II. The town was liberated by the 1st Polish Armoured Division on 6 September 1944. The Last Post was sounded at the Menin Gate that evening.
