13:07 As an SN95 owner, I assure you the hood is not made of plastic. It's made of fiberglass. A plastic hood would never pass a crash test.

I can also confirm on behalf of my father. The hood of his car was damaged and it exposed the fiberglass.

That's my dad at 7:45. shortly after this video was taken, they put in robots to finish those spot welds. He retired after a couple of years after they moved production to Flat Rock. Side edit, the "protective" gear didn't stop the sparks from burning through the clothes. I remember my dad coming home in sweat and having .22 cal holes all over his t-shirts. 👨‍🏭👨‍🏭

Lots of them came with fairly large gaps between the front fenders and doors, on one side or the other, mine included. On mine, ( 1994 GT ) there is a large, uneven gap on the passenger side. I saw the same, on a brand new 1998 Mustang GT, that I test drove, and was thinking about buying, so it's something that didn't improve over time. Some were arrow straight, others were not. The reasons for which, maybe no one knows ??? Maybe some of these were built on Monday mornings, when half the staff were dealing with hangovers ?????

So wrong lol. I'm shocked they didn't show the live axle being installed and then cut to a computer sim of an independent rear suspension. ;)

So I’ve heard on and on about balanced driveshafts installation. As in when you change your ujoints you must reinstall your driveshaft exactly as you had taken it out. According to this video, the assembler just slammed a driveshaft in and went on to the next car. I call myth busted on balanced driveshaft install.

I've heard that, also. I guess, since it's balanced already, it doesn't really matter how it goes in, right? That's like saying, once your wheels are balanced, you need to install them the same way every time!

My '98 Mustang (V6 5 speed) has a steel hood, not plastic. There is a huge design problem with the undercarriage of the SN95 Mustang. They did not actually use any structural steel on the underbody. The whole bottom of the car is made of the same gauge steel as the body. No heavier frame rails anywhere. This makes the Mustang not only VERY flexible, but there are no lifting points under the car. No matter where you lift the car from, you are going to bend something, the only exceptions being the rear axle and the front lower control arms. Even the K member that supports the engine is made of thin sheet metal. This is basically a carryover from the Fox platform, without a doubt the worst design Ford has ever used. Many different models have used this platform, and they all have the same problems.

You can see the front frame rails/strut towers rusting before they leave the factory.

Um, the hoods aren't plastic, theyre fiberglass. And this footage was definitely from '94 or '95 with those taillights. Enjoyed watching thos though. Hopefully everyone in the video has since retired well from Ford.

I’ve been working on my 97. Everything is breaking on it 🤦🏻‍♂️. Tight bolts break. Vacuum lines brittle and crack just by looking at them. Pray for me when I try to take out the starter or mid pipe 🤦🏻‍♂️
