The property tax is how they are stealing their land. ALL of the Gullah Geechee lands have been under attack because of brazen abuse of these bogus laws. They trying to force them to leave by this means. Again, they tried, but they failed, as the protection of these Black lands and legacies is steadfast.

When developers or the city want your land they pull all kinds of dirty tricks, me and my grandfather fought hard in our own land battle, but eventually it became such an uphill battle with no way of winning it without a miraculous occurrence, that loss still weighs so heavy on my heart and I get so very anxious even passing the roads and parking lots that now stand where we once played and gathered, where we grew our food and tended to the trees and the animals, memories are something worth holding onto and a true blessing, but so is preservation of your family's history and the grounds hallowed by the harmony of love. Don't give up, I'm glad you have some people backing you up as the greedy tyrants attempt their malevolent injustices upon yet another innocent person who merely desires to hold onto what is rightfully theirs. Her family is very well educated and prosperous

First of all by law if she lived in the house for 30+ years & pay taxes & up keep the property she is the owner whether she was officially on tho deed or not. Secondly who according to them is the owner of the property allegedly and it’s more willing to give away the property to them? Thirdly, you should make sure your property deed is up to date, current & correct & has all the owners listed on record. Fourth, you need to file counter claim against this company & Fifth what’s the survey of the property says? you have to establish clean boundaries between the properties & allow for easement. You can put it fence on your property line too to make the separation & they can not trespass or it will constitute criminal trespassing. Sixth, property deed should have survey & specified the property location, size, and property should be clearly marked with survey’s marks. These are sometime very hard to find since they are in-ground but the marking should have portion sticking out of the ground. Usually these are metal green colors pin/stakes but these can be moved accidentally so it’s good you are doing your survey. Make sure to record it everything with the county property recorder as an updated record. If they caused damages that will turn out to be within your property line you will have to sue them but the lawsuit is FREE! Here is more: “Adverse possession occurs when a person, or for example a squatter who has found a home to live in. That squatter knowingly could trespass onto the property and start living there, paying the taxes and keeping the home in order. After 5 years, that squatter legally owns that property.” …”doctrine first developed in early modern Europe, but South Carolina courts continue to enforce it in cases where one owner has neglected or forgotten about a piece of land while another has been using or caring for it for so long that to make him or her leave would seem unfair, or create hardship. “

The thing I dislike about that is a woman installed a fence on land to keep her animals in but that was listed as an improvement. The heirs failed to monitor the land and she claimed it as hers. People are always scheming. If you own land keep your documents in order for your heirs.

Greed wants everything to build these condos on water & sand & milk all the money they can … the “American” greed & this is why all criminals are in the USA - they have 300 million slaves to rob & bring some more victims from around the world to USA as well to buy their water’s floating homes to be washed away by the next hurricane

They would have had to place a sign with a date & time to have a hearing to discuss the improvements and impacts to the neighbors. They should check and see if this is true for their area.
