This was so informative, thank you!!! I’m so glad you shared your thoughts on the Muldowny PT approach. I appreciate the individualistic approach and the analogies shared. It is super helpful with understanding PT with hEDS.

Is there a directory or other resource for locating a good PT?

EDS Society is a good resource, you can search a database there. That’s how I found my PT and she is SO knowledgeable!

I always recommend people ask around in local support groups. While the EDS Society list is helpful, they do not vet people at all. This is understandable since that would be such a huge task but then it means that the list consists just of people who submitted their name.

Thank you! Question: are people with HEDS more susceptible to hemarthrosis, bleeding into the joints post-op. Had a partial knee-replacement in Dec and this week had huge swelling that turned out to be blood in the joint.

Easy bruising and bleeding are known to occur with hEDS, however hemarthrosis to me falls into a different category. Of course, blood thinners are used after these surgeries to help prevent blood clots and unfortunately, will cause excessive bleeding in some people. I hope that helps.

Thank you! I am getting scheduled for a knee scope to find the source of the bleeding-and hopefully fix it!
