Francis is the man. Stupid cool dude. Met him like 4 years ago at H2oi. He was killing GTR's, Supras, 5.0's, etc then. Opened my eyes to the real inline 6 beasts. Boosted M50/52, s50/52/54 are capable 1jz/2jz/Supra killers.

Big props for keeping the bmw engine and building it, e30s&e36s hold a special spot in my heart , love the old schools great job

And I didn't say the 2jz was the "be all end all" engine choice. I don't like crossbreeding cars, throws off the balancing that the car was designed for. Of course if an engine is properly built and tuned.. you can move mountains.... so why don't you GTFOH and make your own post... bout you gonna build M power in a shoe box... you sound like a real stupid fanboy that is going to spend 5 times the amount of money it would take to achieve this horsepower if it were a JZ.

Fun Fact : 2JZ and some M50/M52 come with cast iron blocks and are both inline 6 engines pretty much twins and always are a good head to head match

Close, the M (and S) 50 are the cast iron blocks for the E36/34 inlines, the M52 is an Aluminium block used in the 323i and 328i respectively. Otherwise bang on 👍

@@eldrl001 us specs single vanos m52s have cast iron blocks due to fuel in the USA having a higher concentration of sulfur that would normally eat away at aluminum blocks

​@@eldrl001 Yep, in that regard we both got screwd, US and EU. US never got a real ///M motor, but their M52 has iron blocks instead of the EU trash aluminum, which is why you tend to see a lot more turbo M52 builds in the US, where as in Europe we use the M50 non vanos.

@@eldrl001 m52 in the us model e36 only are iron by blocks. In the z3 model they are aluminum blocks m52. I got an us spec e36 328i with an m52 iron block lol

The M50/S50 motors are legendary. We all know that. The bit that surprises me is how the trans + rear axle don't tear themselves right out of the car! Be interested to know what trans/prop/diff/shafts he's got and what mods he did to the rear subfame mouts, as they can tear out even on stock power E36s! I miss my old 325 coupe, but in the UK they rust out pretty badly :-(

I disagree, the S50b30 is a very capable block use for forced induction, the 325i is a good option for those who cant afford an ///M however or are in the US where there is no S50...

Bring it to an event, only a few Hondas have done well. It's not as easy as everyone thinks. Fair 60-65 start and 1760ft, cars go slower than they think all the time.
