I'm 85 and I think I still have it! Only in brown. You're making it a lot harder then you need to. Just go up from yhe back.

Agree. I have much longer and thicker hair, and it is not this difficult to get them in.
I was born in 1959 and used those in college in 1980-81. They've been around a long time.

Thank you. I also know these are not from the 90's lol. My mother had a few of those, and she was born in 1922. I remember seeing hers when I was a child in the 70's.
I love the banana clip too

Banana clip was my go to
Just hook it around your neck first, like a necklace. Then bring it up over your face. Much easier. Just have to be careful not to poke yourself, but you can get the fastener centered well in the back and take time pushing the comb into your hair nicely while it's resting on your forehead.
Yep, I had them in brown and black back in the day. I had soooo much hair these were challenging to use. Now, if I find them again - maybe online or a dollar store, I'd try it again. I still have a lot of hair but for now, it's short since I cut off ALL of my dye and going platinum...loving it = freedom. Great vid !
🤔 I used to put it around my neck first, did the clip in the front, then turned it around so the clip was in the back and slipped it onto my head while it was already fastened. I never had an issue getting all the hair in at the back.

Also, I totally went out and bought these after watching this video. Bringin' it back! 😂
Dolce and Gabanna used these a few times on the catwalk back then. They did the opposite and pulled out some more hair around the face to make it look ''deliberately messy''. Then they put the rest of the hair up and put flowers and leaves in it. Still think about it sometimes and how I could recreate it for a special occasion.

Why are these considered 90s. I wore them in the early 80s.
Wow! I forgot all about them! I did have them!! 😺💝
I loved watching you put the bun in. Glad to know, even the professionals have problems. 😂 You are so cute, you could be my granddaughter in a heartbeat. 😊❤
Maybe spraypaint them for bright colours...I'd sand it a bit with a nail file, and then it'll have something for the paint to stick to. I've got a couple of these, still wear them occasionally. Personally, I attach it around my neck first and then pull it up to my hair...means I don't miss any areas of my hair. Then I just pull the hair in sections so it is volumised and even. My hair is baby fine, so makes me look like I actually have hair lol I love it!
Yes in the 80s we always put in on the second one.. ❤
Looks good
😂😂luvved the honesty in this video ❤❤❤❤i could feel your dispair with the messy bun im still struggling 😂😂😂much love to you ❤👍⚘⚘🇦🇺

I've seen influencers with a million subs try to bring this back 😆 No lady is going to ever wear these again 😅
They sell these headbands on Temu/Shein in all varieties (search Flexible Comb Teeth Headband) & I've also gotten some at Dollar Tree. I love the clear ones. Also been wearing for many yrs, find it's easier to put it on as a necklace around your neck, close the clasp, turn it so the clasp is behind your neck and then flip head over and put on that way.
That is called a RAIN COMB. I've got lots of them, including transparent ones! I'm one of children of the 80's (DOB: '75)
Ohmigod I love your mani!

I'm a bleach and tone, lifted to a clean pale level 10 then toned with matrix Colorsync spa and 10p in equal parts
Walmart sales a 20-pack of these in 10 different colors for $7.89. Some are neon colors.
There were really big in the early 80's when I was in highschool. I don't remember them at all in the 90's.

They can be tricky in smooth hair, I find they stick in mine if my hair is a little oily, if it's clean I use a bit of dry texture spray or dry shampoo first.

@diyhairschool4445 I'll have to try that think you
I have one of these but I have a small head and it slides to the center of my head and falls off. In addition it pulls my hair so tight it gives me a headache so I never wear it.
I found a clear one at walmart, if I remember correctly
It was a torture device especially with glasses.
Where is it in your storefront? I remember those and loved them! Don’t see it though……

I’m sorry but even in the 90’s I don’t know anyone who loved these because they were traumatizing when they get caught in your hair.
Omg! I had to double play speed! Sorry but none of that was cute 😮
You don't have hair
Too much talking bla bla bla boring
