90's Commercials Vol. 200

These commercials aired on KTVU on February 19th, 1990. These ads were originally posted in Vols. 20-22 but the picture quality on those has always bothered me, so here they are in better quality and also with every ad that's on the tape! Happy 200th!
1. "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show" Commercial Bumper
2. Incredible Edible Egg PSA
3. Thunder Jets Fruit Snacks
4. Looney Tunes Die Cast Toys
5. G.I. JOE
6. "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show" Commercial Bumper
7. "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show" Intro (I remember I was always hoping I'd get picked up immediately after my Kindergarten class ended so I could watch this show, but I think I almost always missed it. Watching it as an adult I find it difficult to get through a whole episode LOL)
8. "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show" Commercial Bumper
9. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Badges at Burger King (With Jonathan Taylor Thomas)
10. Flippits
11. "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show" Commercial Bumper
12. Oopsie Daisy
13. Baby Bubbles
14. Sequoia Institute (Learn how to repair giant redwood trees)
15. Promo for "Who's The Boss"
16. "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show" Commercial Bumpers
17. Kool-Aid Wacky Warehouse
18. Bouncin' Kids
19. Berry Bears (I remember these being pretty good, similar to the gummi sharks of the period but obviously less cool)
20. Cinnamon Toast Crunch (I wish I could go back and warn the two other bakers about Wendell savagely murdering them)
21. "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show" End Credits
22. Honey Nut Cheerios
23. Sequoia Institute
24. California Academy of Sciences
25. Promo for "Duck Tales"
26. "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers" Commercial Bumper
27. Little Lost And Founds
28. Whatchamacallit (I wish this jingle was longer)
29. Handi Snacks Sega Genesis Sweepstakes (The video game animation here reminds me a bit of Nick Arcade)
30. "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers" Commercial Bumpers
31. Oatmeal Swirlers
32. Sequoia Institute
33. Cheerios
34. Marine World Africa USA (This was a really fun zoo as a kid, now it's a Six Flags amusement park)
35. "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers" Commercial Bumpers
36. Tetris for NES (Never actually owned this as a kid, either for NES or Gameboy, so I really missed out. I often play the NES version when I can't sleep)
37. "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers" Commercial Bumper
38. "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers" Commercial Bumper End Credits
39. Record Breakers
40. Cinnamon Toast Crunch (She took the last known photograph of the other two bakers...before Wendell took care of them)
41. Predators PSA (With John Denver and Kermit the Frog. RIP John and Jim)
42. Promo for "Silver Spoons"
43. "Duck Tales" Commercial Bumper
44. Froot Loops (With HOLOGRAMS)
45. McDonald's (With Mix 'em Up Monsters Happy Meal Toys)
46. Alpha Bits (With Joseph Mazzelo from "Jurassic Park")
47. "Duck Tales" Commercial Bumpers
48. Golden Grahams (Stereotypical 80's teenage douchebag)
49. Pocket Power (You can aim it THREE WAYS)
50. Easter Seal Telethon PSA (With Jade Calegory the star of the smash hit "Mac & Me")
51. "Duck Tales" Commercial Bumpers
52. Cap'n Crunch
53. McDonald's (With BERENSTAIN Bears Happy Meal Toys. Never noticed how lame Grimace's ripoff Transformer toy is)
54. Play-Doh Make-a-Meal
55. Play-Doh Fun Factory
56. Cookie Crisp
57. "Duck Tales" Commercial Bumper
58. "Duck Tales" End Credits ("If LOBSTER is the best medicine" ???)
59. Sequoia Institute (C'mon give us your damn money)
60. KTVU New Kidstown Reporters
61. Promo for "Three's Company"
62. Coca Cola (A callback to the classic "Hilltop" ad from 1970. The kid oriented commercials end abruptly here once "Silver Spoons" starts)
63. Hershey's BarNone (Is this one of the first "woman in classic convertible driving through the desert" ads?)
64. Stevens Creek Toyota
65. Beech-Nut Stages (With Joan Lunden)
66. Crest
67. TV Spot for "Where The Heart Is"
68. S&K Toyota
69. Oxy Clean Medicated Pads (I suppose these things still exist, but I remember they were advertised everywhere back then, especially comic books LOL)
70. KTVU Kidstown Fox Club

I never thought I would actually enjoy watching these commercials now. As a 90's kid growing up I hated them, now watching them it brings back good memories of the 90's. too bad the 90's are over. Best times growing up.

@@RIVALContentJammerz not only that, but adults catered to childhood fantasy back then, in an effort to preserve that childhood innocence for the greater good. Somewhere after 2000 Adults decided to stop protecting childhood innocence, and started exposing children to the worst, most ignorant parts of humanity at a young age, such as hip hop, movie violence, hood culture etc. Now kids are jaded and despondent by the time theyre 12. A sad state of affairs tbh.

GUYS! I had the ORIGINAL TENGEN version of Tetris for NES. The one that made Hiroshi Yamauchi Flip his lid and had pulled off the shelves...and it started the thing where everything had to have the Official Nintendo seal of Quality. Tengen's version was always better...two player mode at one time, more colorful. it was the black colored cart. They had a pac man one too.

Not a fan of the Tengen version. Even if it has the multiplayer modes, it honestly feels like a bootleg compared to the more polished Nintendo version. Neat collectors item though.

1989-90 was my junior year of high school. Every morning I would set my VCR to record "The Twilight Zone", which aired (bizarrely) just after "Super Mario Bros." on one of the local independent stations, and got tons of these commercials on tape. It's an almost physically jarring experience to see them back to back again.

It isn't as though someone flips a switch when a new decade starts and everything is different. The 90's didn't really have an identity of it's own until around late 1991/early 1992.
