$90 Ninja vs. $500 Vitamix (Is the Vitamix Blender Better?)

There are a lot of blenders on the market. But two brands stand out for us - Vitamix and Ninja. We also have seen pretty top-rated deals on both in the last year at Slickdeals. So we compared the two models Slickdealers found for the best price points in the last year - a Vitamix A3300 and a Ninja Professional Plus with Auto-IQ.
The Vitamix A3300 comes in at an MSRP of $500, though the best sale in October 2020 saw prices as low at $350. The Ninja, on the other hand, has an MSRP of $90, but Kohl’s sold it on Black Friday for $51 with $15 Kohl’s cash.
Which blender boasts the best balance of blending abilities? Should you go big with the Vitamix, or go home with the Ninja? This is our head-to-head series - WhichWon?

    Standar size ball/mason canning jars fit on most blenders, so maybe that’s where it came from. So you can make a bunch of smoothie jars ahead of time and blend right in the jar, put the lid back on and take it with you.

    Personally as someone who makes smoothies everyday, the ninja and nutribullet never blended everything and I’d have to chew my smoothies. It was terrible. (But I use kale, spinach and almonds along with a frozen banana). Vitamix has BLUNT blades which smash the food instead of slicing it. (Think mashed potatoes- if you just kept chopping them, they’d never be smooth, you need to smash them). But with blunt blades, you need the RPMs and power to really smash stuff. Vitamix is absolutely worth it for me

    Don't buy this garbage!!! I have this garbage because that is what I can call this garbage Vitamix a2300i SELF-DETECT® Technology is a badly designed , in container is a small magnet in the lid and it connects to the container which has a black strip built into the rubber casing that transmits information to the lower part informing that the lid is in place fortunately, the lower part is damaged due to vibrations and stops transmitting information that the cover is in place it's like cutting a cable and waiting for electricity you can press the lid down as much as you want and it won't work look at the smaller containers they have a magnet on the rims after a while the magnet breaks but still working this is my 2 and the last one, the first one worked 3 months, 2 it worked 8 months, I give back and want a refund I guess I'll make a video of it warning everyone

    With the Ninja, when making smoothies or the like, it benefits HUGELY from any kind of liquid in there with the solid ingredients. Milk, cream, or even fruit juice, water, or something thicker like a bit of yoghurt. It seems to help a lot with the final texture. Also, 100% those blades are sharp as sin. I dropped the blade tower while cleaning it once (soapy hands) and got some nasty cuts on my forearm.Take care and clean it like you would clean a sharp knife.

    I had that same ninja for about a year and the issue with it is that the blades are not made to last… they are very sharp out of the box which makes it appear to be a good product but within 6 months to a year of regular use the blades got dull which made it nearly unusable for green smoothies because of the chunks and inability to grind up fresh greens to a smooth texture. I then upgraded to my Vitamix A3500 and I’m obsessed with it. Vitamix truly makes quality products and they stand by that which is why there is a 10 year warranty. You get what you pay for. Anyone who tries to say Ninja is better has not had enough experience with either machines to be comparing the two.

  • @adcashmo

    @adcashmo

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@pjaypender1009 the cost/benefit is not purely mathematical. If you only had to replace the blades on a cheap blender every 3 years and the rest of the blender lasted 10, then we'd have a different story. But you also have to consider how good each blender is at its purpose. The point was if you were really to spend 90 dollars 3 times (370) for a product which actually is no where near as good as a 500 dollar product which lasts for 10 years and does everything better, it's an easy decision for me. And the blades aren't the only thing to fail. The motors on cheap benders aren't built to last either, especially when blending tough items.

    clearning the ninja is chore. it's three parts, and you have to be really careful with the blade. the hole at the bottom of the blade gets food inside it and hard to clean it out. the ninja top has a lot of crevices and even with daily scrubbing, you'll start to notice build up. the vitamix cleans itself. as for performance, I noticed whole foods using a vitamix. i tried making the strawberry almond smoothie from whole foods at my house with my ninja and couldn't get the taste and consistency, so i bought a vitamix. it really just boils down to how you like your smoothies. i'm picky and prefer no chunks. i don't even like pulp in orange juice, but obviously some people love it. the ninja cannot blend the tiny seeds in strawberries. there are times you'll have to stop the ninja and move your food around so that it will blend. it's a lot more convenient to use a tamper with the vitamix

    I have both and apparently the Ninja is my favourite. Vitamix is over rated. I feel less guilty to abuse the Ninja as its so cheap. Definitely my go to for smoothies with A LOT if ice. It just blends better with the 3 blades. I don't do vege smoothies so can't comment on that. But yes I prefer my Ninja over my Vitamix. And it cost me $1000USD to buy in Singapore. $200USD for my Ninja is soooo much value. If it's spoilt, i can buy 4 more Ninja for the price of 1 Vitamix.

    For me both blenders are good to use and the Vitamix blender blended very well what ever they just blended in this video also alot of people want more softer ice when is crushed like the Vitamix blender do but the how the Ninja blender crushed the ice for some people it was just fine and why there was no butter for the smoothie on the Vitamix blender is better to know which is the best blender if the Vitamix blender had butter for the smoothie. Alot of people get confused with their own blenders and don't know how to take care any kind of blender they have and then they just break the blender and then think that probably they didn't have a good blender like they expected

    As soon as you said you were "testing" the decibel level while blending the nut butters, I knew Malia's nut butter was NOT going to turn out right. She seems a little too disinterested in the whole thing to know the importance of using the tamper to make it. The Vitamix is a much better product, but to be fair, not everyone can afford to pay that much for a blender. The Ninja is a suitable substitute for those on a stricter budget.

    One test should have been hot soups, like Ramsay's broccoli soup which is just blanched broccoli and boiling water that the broccoli was cooked in. This kind of soup is not the easiest to do with an immersion blender or it will be too rustic and uneven - using an actual blender makes the best results. But if the pitcher or "jar" warps, then it might be worth spending the extra money for a non-plastic pitcher.
