Honestly I feel char gets over hyped. Not from og to chars counterattack that was all great, I mean the origins series where it gets over the top and honestly stupid.

Marida Cruz is such a well written character. Easily one of my favorite characters in all of Gundam. Her story arc through Unicorn was an emotional roller coaster that makes me unapologetically tear up every time

Char and Amuro deserve their places, they are the freaking prototype for all the characters that came after for crying out loud.

No matter how many pilots they are Heero Yuy and Zechs Merquise (Milliardo Peacecraft )will always be my favorite Gundam Pilots

I binged watched the first 3 Mobile suit Gundam movies, and then binged every episode of the origin. I can safely say after that wonderful experience Chars place at #1 is undeniable.

Marida stealing Kamille's spot among the top3 is understandable. Truly the best girl to beat the best grill.

Back then ppl didn’t give a shit about offending Islam and was more than happy to show the colors of that religion. Setsuna is hands down one of the best gundam protagonists out there.

Char and Amuro definitely deserve the ranking they gotten. I would personally could of interchange the two in my list but overall can't disagree.

Amuro and Char both fighting at the top spot gives a smile on my face.

Am I the only one who gives Lockon Stratos the respect he deserves?

Great list and from the most part, accurate IMHO. Was super surprised and glad to see Kamille rank so high. He gets such a bad wrap but is easily one of the best and probably the most powerful Newtype, second only maybe to Amuro, in the UC. Love Marida Cruz too....such a great character and she deserved to be in the top 3!

Kamille is a meme at worst but he's a beloved main character in gundam. In terms of Newtype abilities, only Judau and probably the enhanced/enlighten Banana can fair against Kamille especially during his Zz days where he can use telepathy in the solar sytem.

@@user-pi1lb4tf2f Agree, Judau is also powerful but from my understanding, he derived a lot of his power from his "connection" to Kamille and ability to channel Kamille and past newtype ghosts also connected to Kamille. So in that regard, I believe Judau to be less powerful without the Kamille connection. Still a great newtype tho.

As far as I know, Kamille is the most powerful Newtype in Gundam lore.

Mcgillis and Gaelio , and Organ and Mika being so close together is so poetic

I’m really surprised ZZ pilots got so far and even Marida Cruz who should have been the main character of UC over Banagher “No Personality” Links.

i reaaalllyy thought Garrod would come up in top 20 lmao i mean man the After War stories really just shows the true horrors of what happened in and after the war, how humans and newtypes were different as newtypes are overly abused in war and detailing about some random child that really doing his best to live in a post war enviorement while trying to fight for what's right and what's left in his current era unlike those overpowered charas like Setsuna, Kira, Banagher, Amuro, etc. Garrod really fights with his pure knowledge and sweat (with the help of Jamille and Tiffa ofc) because he's not special and have no superpower abilities like most Gundam Characters lmao

Setsuna was a G. He spent 4 years out in space fighting solo with a busted-ass Gundam.

I actually really like Kira Yamato 😅 along with Heero, Domon, duo, setsuna, zechs/ peacecraft, Kagali, athrun zala, Aina Sahala and Shiro Amada.

@liecretsev not sure what your point is, I never said he wasn't a Jesus or Mary Sue type character. I just like him. Frankly any story about a civilian with no training getting into a military weapon with no training and decimating all experienced pilots in his/her path with on the fly experiences making up the bulk of his/her combat growth with marginal at best character growth... are all Jesus/ Mary Sue stories. In this regard, After Colony And OO are the most realistic and most grounded universes and 8th MS team one of the most grounded stories in the UC. Of course, not accounting for space evolution/ wizards (UC, and Seed are the biggest offenders in this regard).

Athrun was defo the best seed char hands down. Well written char until jesus yamato manipulates him. Also has not lost a single fight while in seed mode. Sadly my fav gundam char, Lockon didnt make the list D:

Athrun is also my fav character on CE. But the problem with him as you said, is that his too easy to manipulate. Chairman Durandal almost got him. Almost. And he changes sides a lot. One minute his Zaft. Then Orb on another. Then back on Zaft again. Then went back on Orb lol. But whatever, he destroyed the Destiny so easily he was awesome.

I've only seen Iron-Blooded Orphans once when it originally aired and I don't remember Orga (#7) as a Gundam/mobile suit pilot. It's weird that he's that high. Also Lunamaria higher than Kira or Shinn. 🤣🤣🤣

I think Kamille should've been in top 3 right there with his teacher. The thing I love about is the fact Kamille starts as an absolute amateur and seeing him grow in a powerful pilot was really entertaining, no small part thanks to the fact that Char was with him in those battles and mentored him, also let's not forget the fact he was one of the most gifted Newtypes in UC and Char viewed him as the next natural step for all humans. As for the SEED characters I am amazed they even got in this chart. I hate the "charging my anger" button, that they press on a whim and suddenly grants them bullshit free get away/overpowering everybody card. Aslo fuck mr Gary Stu Immortal Plot Armor Kira and his miss Blandy Bland Merry Sue wife.

Mcgillis and Gaellio with their gundams are my favorite in all of gundam I'm really glad they made it pretty high on the list

honestly, kind of sad the other celestial being members was not included in the list but I'm just really glad that best girl Marida Cruz is standing on the podium along with Char and Amuro

I get the Kira hate, but ranking Shinn higher is ridiculous

I agree, even being a big Organization fan. he wasn't a fundamental pilot.

Garrod ran imo is the best gundam protagonist. The dude was dope. He was just an ordinary dude. He wasn't the ultimate coordinator like kira, or wasn't the leader of some alliance like domon. He was literally just a regular person and I liked how we saw his skills improve as the series went on. He even beat a newtype by himself through Hard work and practice. Garrod ran was the shit and is definitely a underrated character.

Quite a surprise for me as well. Kira’s very popular in Japan. But quite polarizing in several other countries, especially the west. People either love him or really hate him, thus brought down the average. Same thing happened to strikefreedom on the other list.

@@KAIJUCORP yeah , I think we can't denied that love or hate him , he is a polarizing figure, Kira is very popular in Asia , like Malaysia , China ,and Japan , they like his character, a hero that has that no killing rule, kinda like batman I guess? plus OP is a concept that they like very much, and Strike freedom has never taken a dmg , a record nonetheless and Kira is the only hero in gundam anime that manage as far as we know , giving the world peace, twice while amuro died doing the impossible, Kira make the world submit, in a twisted way I think they like the ideas that finally a Gundam that didn't kill directly and yet manage to make the world a better place they even dub Lacus is like Emperor palpatine, manipulating everyone and boy did lacus secure the best genetic, the ultimate coordinator for herself~ XD while in the west, because the first mainstream Gundam is Gundam wing , I think the fans colour the Gundam franchise , that it much follow the wing formula~ while younger generations that like/love IBO , most of them never even watch the original Gundam but nevertheless , loving more content on this channel wohoo!

Kira is just a big fish in a pond if you put him against the OGs in the sea cosmos. Kira's not even featured in Gundam Beyond. Meanwhile Amuro/Kamille/Char gets to be in the spotlight everytime UC is featured. Kamille is also the first gundam protagonist to win the best male in the anime grand prix while Char winning the same category the year before. And while Kira is popular in Japan, he's also voted as the most hated.

@@servitudenations He had an ungodly amount of plot armor that made his fights especially during seed destiny boring to watch because it became predictable. Being OP is a tough concept to execute because its hard to put stakes in them so it must be handled correctly. Lastly his pacifist persona did not fit well with the western audience because it made him toxicly naive to the nature of war unlike some of the other MCs. I love the seed gundam desingns but I felt the characters were mostly flat.

Char is just so iconic. I loved Mobile Suit Gundam Origin. He really did deserve his own series. What a well written character.

Umm no. In Seed he barely had challenges with fodder enemies and his unit has always been the strongest. UC pilots alone can outshine Kira, and we're not talking about the uber newtypes. Then if the gundam special system has to be considered such as those in IBO and G-Gundam, then the orphans and the 5 Shuffle fighters exceed him. 00 Celestial being pilots are also super human with setsuna eventually becoming a true innovator, he has all the powerups of a newtype without their downside.

Yuu and Nimbus originated in a 1996 video game. Characters that originate in gundam games have not been able to reach to popularity of characters that originate in shows, novels, or manga. It got a tie-in manga sure but it isn't the same

Kira is ranked a bit high there. Better put him at 91.

When you try to argue with them, they will say popularity =/= quality, and circlejerk you to a ban or block. Is seed/destiny are the worst, ae would literally never hear from the seriea again, yet they appear constantly Same story about disney sw which people believed kennedy was getting fired, carano was coming back, there was a lucasfilm civil, sequels getting retconned.

I have my respect to Gundam Seed it was the first Gundam I've ever watch and got me interested in Mecha Anime, Athrun and Nicol were really my Favorite in the series not really fond of Kira though. Edit: I'm happy that Ran and Hiroto able to get 50 above rank, since Gundam X is not really that known and how most seem (from what I've observed) are not really fond of Gundam Build Divers

I think the age 3 pilot would had ranked higher if they series didnt shorten so his half of the story got cut and he became a kira clone. Edit: my favorite seed character shinn got my favorite mumber 69, what are the odds lol knowing this fan base not "hard" to get to that number and leave it for the joke Edit 2: kinda unfair that all three main gundam pilots from age and seed made it on the pilot list but not the others from 00, gundam wing and g gundam didn't

Watched the video with full seriousness until Shinn ranked higher than Kira. My thoughts are immediately that this ranking is not reliable. How the f the Shinn brat outranks Kira. I'm out.

@@KAIJUCORP Ahahaha~ Shinn was such a big brat enough to be on my Death note lol and Kira is one of my favourites. The Gundam Seed series is one of my favourite Gundam series. To be honest there are some series I haven't watched yet and some that I have not watch fully as the plot was getting boring. I did watched till the end of this video and there are other of my favs that made it to the Top 50 at least. Shinn was just a dealbreaker for me.😅 Skill wise and character wise he definitely does not beat Kira. It's a popularity vote so who cares what I think anyways haha!

Graham Acker and Neil Dylandy (Lockon) above all for me. Followed by Amuro.

God it's so funny to see Orga on the list whilst the other actual gundam pilots (Akihiro and Shino) did not even make it LMFAOOOO, S2E48 really did stonks on Orga's popularity 😂😂

Disappointed that Quattro-taii wasn't ranked

My top 10 would be all cosmic era characters

kinda dissapointed to see Seabook in 30, i mean its understandable he only got one movie but the stuff he did in crossbone and the series later proved to be impressive and overall justified his character

@@uandresbrito5685 totally agree with you there, Kincaid is a much more experienced pilot in his time of Crossbone as he proved to put a worthy fight with the 3 main villains of the series and even took down the head captain that was piloting the gundam he did back in F91

Again not surprised why Kira and his Freedom and Strike Freedom ranked low. He is so called Kira Jesus Yamato here because he is the ultimate coordinator. And his character became more shit for others when he reappeard in Seed Destiny.

@@yabornbern6138 I dont hate him. Other here in my country? Yes. For me a skilled pilot like him anf his cool strike freedom what matters. Sure sometimes the not killing rule is annoying cause everyone wants to shoot him down yet he still in defense mode but I dont care with that as long as he can shoot 25 MS per all out burst of Strike Freedom while not taking any damage.
