I've been watching these huge eagles , vultures , or buzzards , my eyesight isn't what it use to be , for roughly a month now . Today it was warm and a little windy due to an approaching storm . Saw quite a bit of birds out today riding updrafts , downdrafts , and thermals , so very active . One bird rode a downdraft to almost the bottom of a huge pine tree on the outer side of the woods and I guess cause the pine tree was so huge the limbs were so sparse it flew straight up parallel with the trees trunk and came out of the top of the tree . Never seen one do that before ; that was so amazing to see it come from the bottom of the tree then shoot out of the top of a tree like a rocket . It actually didn't come straight out , it had a little bit of a rotation so I'm assuming it was rotating and meandering as it climbed the tree .

An eagle moved into my neighborhood briefly and made his home in a huge tree a couple houses down. One day he swooped down from the sky and started flying straight at me about a foot off the ground. I’ve got an eagle with a six foot wing span playing chicken with me when right before he gets to me he casually reaches down and snatches a large snake into his talons then flies right over my head. He heads up to his branch to eat his snake while people continuously stop to photograph him. He didn’t stay around too long, I think he ran out of snakes

Early 80s, Lake of the Pines Texas. Eagles from all over the United States would winter on the lake. During Feb and March when the Crappie would enter shallow waters and streams to spawn, the eagles would snatch one after another from the water, fly to a close by, gravelly beach, take one bite from the belly of the fish (for the eggs) and leave the still alive fish for me and mine to collect by the bucket full. LOL! They were kind enough to do half of the fish cleaning for us! That's good old American cooperation.., Southern hospitality!

The only hawk native to my area are Red Tails. I live a good way out in the country and man there are a bunch of big hawks out here. I've never seen them with a fox but I have seen many fly off with a snake or rabbit...usually a black snake. One thing that I see quite often is crows fending off a hawk from their nests....and they are really good at it. Never underestimate the common crow. But probably the most interesting encounters I've had with hawks is there is a fork in the road about 2 miles south of my house....over the past 10 years or so I have had not one, but two hawks fly down as soon as I hit that fork, one on the left side of my truck and one on the right...maybe 20 feet up. They will fly with me for several seconds and lift up. It has happened maybe 6 or 7 times.
