9 Strange Habits Only Smart People Have

Highly intelligent people share a lot of the same mannerisms and habits. But the surprising truth is, many of us probably wouldn’t be able to spot one in real life if we were just looking at the way they act in everyday life. Why? Well, because these odd habits highly intelligent people tend to have probably aren’t what you think! Here are a few!
Did you know that highly intelligent people do things differently compared to an average person? Watch this video to find out: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pH6VzqSwqrrIlLg.html

I somehow relate to all of the signs, no wonder I was getting shouted at my parents for being so messy, especially when I doodle on my notebook. I tend to daydream and talk to myself for no reason and my family just stares at me weirdly. I was starting to criticize myself for being the weird one or whatever. Turns out I was actually a highly intelligent person?! I can finally understand myself thanks to this video!

Um sorry to burst your bubble but I’m pretty sure you describe you do is pretty normal. It’s normal for people to be messy, doodle is a maybe and some habits which I also do extremely often. A lot of people daydream mainly for reasons like boredom and talking to yourself is normal too? I do it too? It’s like diagnosing yourself to have depression bc you feel depressed and you think that what it is. I mean if you think about it, being highly intelligent is pretty sad. And if so many people relate to this video then wouldn’t the now highly intelligent is just normal? But that doesn’t mean your not highly intelligent it just annoying to watch people think they are sometimes bc of a video. Btw I forgot to add some stuff, if you talk to yourself for no reason sure that’s fine but it did specify that talking to yourself is bc there no one to really I guess understand you. So you just kinda express thoughts out loud. I think that’s normal for lonely people or people who get sided a lot.

As someone who is interested in philosophy; another sign of being highly intelligent is challenging people's perspective. By asking why they think that way about a certain subject, you gain insight into their point of view. Not only that, but you could also give your point of view and exchange perspectives. Unfortunately, 60% of this turns into a right vs wrong competition 😕 However, the thing about philosophy is that there is no one answer. That's why I enjoy challenging others way of seeing something.

For the daydreaming, I don’t daydream necessarily, but I do like imagining little situations with half of my brain’s processing. I often carry a string or flexible stick around with me because I can flick it a little quickly if I want to get a clearer picture of what I’m imagining. I also like talking out loud, and often go into a mumble when I lose confidence in what I’m saying mid-sentence to really think about it. It’s also really easy for me to go on tangents because I have so much to say and no immediate way to write it down, and oftentimes if I’m excited about something I’ll just talking to them without addressing them ( I don’t do this in public) because I feel comfortable in that space and so I forget some formalities. Also for the thing about more extensive vocabulary, I hate potty humor and people saying poop, I much prefer saying feces due to its rhythmic and fancier nature. I often like watching combat but avoid actual fights at all costs, even if I could take someone. If it’s both nonfiction and someone could get greatly injured, I don’t want to inflict that or have it inflicted on me. I also find it extremely easy to continue conversations even from a single prompt, but starting them is pretty darn difficult for me. I also love compromise, hating both people’s total opinions but loving to find the silver lining within. On a similar note, I’ll always start coming up with a different version of a game or system if it bores me or seems wrong, theory crafting mechanics, fixes, etc.

She managed to trick everyone who watched this video into thinking they're "highly intelligent" by choosing common habits (especially among teenagers) and presenting them in a way that makes them seem unique. I have everything but that, though it's b/c im ALWAYS cold, so no cold showers. "Talking to yourself" - there's actually a very simple reason for this. Have you ever noticed that sometimes while you're asking someone a question you figure out an answer to it? Personally I noticed that while trying to compose a precise question, asking for help with a problem, I often figured out the answer myself. So I just started doing exactly that without bothering anyone first: ask myself the question. Saying it out loud just helps put it into actual words.

I would describe it as; Focused, reserved, humble, intellectual sharpness and self-driving inertia to learn more about their specialized field. If I had to describe it, it was like changing from kindergarten to high school, the environment was more pure and less uncontrolled emotions, it is like growing up a second time, so to speak. I really loved to ask them to show me their passionate work; I loved to peak into new fields of knowledge I could hardly comprehend.

7 out of 9 of these things are totally me. Then again it always made my parents and teachers mad when I didn't "apply myself" (whatever that means) at school, but I always scored high marks on my tests, 😆. Everything mentioned on here but taking cold showers and doodling I don't do. The former (cold showers) I've started doing, but only in the summertime because I tend to get sick to my stomach with hot showers at that time, and I can't draw for crap; I did NOT inherit my mother's drawing gene.

I relate to most of this. Also, I talk to myself, but I do it in my head. Sometimes I even make up conversations in my mind, explain things to myself even though I already understand it, and repeat the things in my head that I’ve already said, usually to perfect it, even though I’m not even saying it to anyone, it’s all to myself. Also it can get really annoying, and give me problems with sleep and focus. I just can’t keep my mind quiet, and I keep thinking about random stuff, even if it’s not important. I just want peace from thinking, but no matter how hard I try, my brain is gonna do something to mess it up, like creating a noise, showing an image, or speaking a word, I can’t make it stop. The best way to get rid of it, is distractions, but that occasionally doesn’t work either, and my mind just distracts me from the distraction. I typically have minor headaches as well, but that might be more because of my sleep, and also lack of drinking, because I don’t drink much. Sometimes I don’t even drink a bottle’s worth of liquid each day.

I do all outside of the cold showers depending on the situation. Though, I do like to switch from hot to cold at times while showering. I daydream way too much though. My sleep dreams are also incredibly vivid and amazing as well, but they do help me get things done or express new ways to show off my inner world when I combine them with music and shop on Etsy to help find things that match what I'm going for. I also cuss so much, I forget that my boss is my boss when I'm speaking to him with 0 filter lmao! I'm watching this at night since I'm a lot more productive at this time, so I work from home from 12am-8am. The peace at night is quite soothing when it's undisturbed by others that are incredibly talkative when the sun is up. I know a lot of things and tend to be a very deep thinker, but I'm no genius. As stated, there are different types of intellect. I know what I know and love to learn more if it's something I'm fascinated with.

Those who do know me also think me highly intelligent, but wonder why it so rarely shows.

YES. Working alone at night is literally the best. I cannot do any work in school unless I’m blasting music to the point I can’t hear anything because too many distractions. Even the lights flickering and small whoosh of a breeze make me loose focus. It’s a double-edged sword though. Broken ears and having to motivate myself

9 of 9, I always have an issue with lists like this because they feel like they're designed to be an ego boost. I wish they offered more answers to the problems that come with these signs. I struggle with jobs because I value purpose and motivation greatly. I also don't like being a stress relief outlet for managers that a stressed. My work is stressful too, but instead of taking that out on other people I choose to make them laugh and feel less stressed. Perfectionist: I've had a saying for as long as I remember "there is no such thing as perfection, only the drive to achieve it is possible." I'm a perfectionist that doesn't believe in perfection. That just adds to my depression.

well, you can see your iq by your speed of learning, like for example if you always get new concepts faster than others. this explains some of the habits they gave like doodling (in that case, being bored since you are taught the same way as others, despite learning faster). however, even when being intelligent doesn't make you better than others, and you should avoid boasting about intelligence, you shouldn't tell yourself you aren't intelligent despite signs pointing directly at it, as you're just falling for the dunning-kruger effect at that point. accept yourself for who you are, and remember that knowing you are smart doesn't mean you have an ego, its just being self-aware. it is a different story however if you boast about it to people.

Thank you for posting this! i won’t proclaim to be “highly intelligent,” but it felt really good to have a lot of my characteristics that i dislike about myself be associated with something positive. Idk about everyone else, but I feel like perfectionism can also contribute to my messiness. (It can be very overwhelming when you overthink the hell out of everything! It never feels like whatever I’m trying to accomplish is “good enough.” ( I often spend so much time on something so small, that by the time I’m finished with it & then recognize that I’ve only conquered the tiniest portion of my task, I’m exhausted and don’t want to even attempt to eff with it until the next time I “ get a wild hare up my a$$” sometime much later in the future”. And I’m always much more productive at night… It drives my family insane, but it’s easier to focus when there aren’t the distractions of everyone else being around . BUUUUUUT -, I prefer my showers hot enough to boil away my flesh along with the impurities 😆- soooooo, if taking cold showers is required, go ahead and add me to the “mensa” list… (not the organization for those with a high I.Q, but the one that’s hilariously refers to the opposite type of person in Spanish- meaning “stupid/imbecile” in its feminine form. 😂. *sorry, I talk too much. 😬. I just got a little excited, I guess.

I feel you on the perfectionism contributing to messiness. My dad always called it the "paralysis of analysis" because, for me, what ends up happening is: X needs cleaned. But X can't be cleaned properly until area Y is cleared out. But Y can't be done until I get the area Z done first. But I really shouldn't do Z until I finish project A. Of course, though, project B was first but I can't do project B until C gets done... but really, I can't do C until I clean X area. I usually end up saying "forget this. I'll just go hide and ignore everything." and nothing gets done. Hence... paralysis of analysis. And, yeah... once you get anything off that checklist done - you get tired because if you start one thing, you have to do all the things... and if it's not night time you get interrupted by everyone and it doesn't get finished. *sighs*

Never really doodled myself, always had a major aversion to pens, pencils and paper because it has always meant work and boring writing, have been doing more focused doodling of a game based language lately though. Major night person as well. I also have to fight myself not to end up day dreaming while driving, good bit of a challenge that! I am a major verbal processor, had people say I sound like I am schizophrenic because of it, sitting playing games and talking to myself over my pondering! Gets pretty annoying being questioned about it after a while!

..... dang I relate to all of them except the cold shower one lmao. Yeah straight into cold showers can feel refreshing sometimes, but hot-luke warm-cold shower is my go to. And as I get older, the more I realize there are things that I still don't know. I mentally remind myself everytime "there's always a room for improvement". Oh plus the last one, I spent the last few years accepting the fact that I work on things better when I'm alone. Compared to my teen years, even if I find it easier to engage conversation with someone (whether they're new or nah) as I grow older, I tend to be alone way more now. I've grown from drowning in self-hatred to actually feel comfortable in my own company. Talking to myself, rambling and doodling on my note app make it easier to get something off my chest. I don't feel smart myself, but thank you for sharing these "strange habits" through this platform!

All of them describe me 100% but about that shower thing, I do like to take cold baths but my mom would never let me do that.... 😅 Also, some highly complicated things or tasks are quite easy for me but the things that are easier for other people, confuse me badly. I do daydream, talk to myself, pull an all-nighter, tend to think a lot, be messy, sometimes curse too, doodle on anything I find, and of course, want to be alone the whole time. I tend to do all of that but genuinely, I was surprised to see myself as an intelligent person because I can't handle all situations very well; I sometimes don't know how to react. And as of now, I'm tired of studies and just want to do what I have a passion for, Story Writing. Yes, I love to write! That's why my preparation for exams this year is almost 0%. Idk what would I do in exams... 😞 If I'm really intelligent, then it should help me go through it. Let's see...

Pretty much describes me too a T. I talk to my a lot. As far as doodling goes, I’m not real artsy but I keep small journals to take notes in. If there is a pattern on the pages I will outline the pattern . I try to find journals that have this feature so when I’m bored with what’s going on I have my trusty pattern to outline. And yes I talk to myself, criticize myself, and basically do everything listed. My room is a mess all the time, and sometimes the simple things escape me while more challenging tasks are a breeze. Sometimes I think my brain is just as chaotic as my room! I don’t, however, take cold showers. I hate being cold and do much to avoid it.
