1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

    food and drink is a real spending killer for me. I'm telling you, the food industry makes their foods really addicting. I'm trying to detox and be content with homecooked foods or less processed foods while eating out. Also, being content with water from the water filter. I'm gonna also stick with drip coffee for a while now! thanks for such great advice!

    You're welcome and thank you! The price of food has gone up so much even with eating at home and I think you're totally right about the food industry. When I first started eating home cooked foods years ago, I was fuller faster and didn't keep craving more food (like french fries). For the water, a tiny bit of fresh lemon is great and I think supposed to have some detox benefits. Keep up the great work!

    I always have my haircut at the hairdressers, I have it cut and blow-dried every two months. When I started to go grey I did start to do my own colour at home however I found it messy and time consuming also as my hair grows so quickly it needed to be done every 3 weeks. I decided to go grey and have never regretted it. When I hear what my friends pay at the hairdressers to have colours mostly over £100 I'm amazed that they are prepared to pay that amount of money on a monthly basis.

    I sold my car as I couldn’t justify the expense. I too cut my own hair and never colour it. 😊

    I'm so happy to hear that! All the people around me seem to keep buying and buying and asking me when I'm going to "fix" my hair. It's great to meet you and hear I'm not alone! Thank you! :)

    I don't buy new clothing with the exception of undergarments and shoes though I have shoes that were purchased used. I don't buy new furniture with the exception of my new mattress. I would never buy a new car. That said, the items I own are higher quality than what I could buy new which just takes some patience. I buy groceries at a store with bags of produce that are imperfect and reduced price meat nearing the expiration date. I buy mostly ingredients instead of premade food. I've been a "foodie" my whole life but rarely eat out because I don't feel I get value for the prices charged. The people I exchange gifts with know they will get something I've made or possibly something used but of good quality...vintage, collectable or something I know they need.

    Many people are too insecure, and don't question what they do. You make your own choices and that is an qccom0lishment.

    I sold my car 10 years ago because I live close enough to my job at a university to walk. I'm going to write a book about being a pedestrian... the gained health, but crazy inattentive drivers. 😮

    That's awesome about selling your car, and a very great book idea! Where I live right now, the streets aren't safe to ride a bike with inattentive and aggressive drivers, but I would love to be able to walk or bike ride places. The health benefits and getting to enjoy the sights while walking sounds very enjoyable.

    Another thing too is that you dont have to attend every single birthday party. That also costs money because you have to give a gift or buy one. Some people give cash.

    I don't see this as virtue signaling. These choices aren't necessarily good or bad, just one persons choices. Also, might help a listener to say no to something they've had a hard time giving up even though they wanted to or rethink an unconscious behavior.

    Nothing new. Group think and virtue signaling.

    Hi @doctork1708. Sometimes group think is unavoidable when the goal is so similar. These ideas might not be new to someone who is already frugal. I've spent my lifetime being frugal growing up with a single mom. Please check out my newest video called "Hidden benefits of being frugal" and let me know if any of those are new to you. :)
